That proposed trade is non-sensical. It involves us giving up two players and a pick to a club that then gives up a pick one place (hopefully) lower than the one we give up.

As for the proposed target, Polak certainly looks to have potential far beyond what he has thus far achieved. I doubt Sydney would interest him much though - he seems to be someone who enjoys the attention, party life, and being 'in the thick of things' a bit too much for the outpost of Sydney (in AFL terms) to appeal to him.

Not really, Carlton get two ready made players and lose only one spot in the draft (19 to 20), Fremantle get a top 20 pick for Polak and we end up with Polak, some more space on our list and are advanced by one spot in the draft (20 to 19).

I don't think Carlton will be willing to part with their 1st & 4th pick in the draft so the only real option for them to trade for playes is their 20th pick which I assume will be on the market come trade time for players.

But saying all that Fremantle would be loathed to depart with Polak for a 20th pick considering he was a top 5 pick, but he has not come on as thought despite his talent.

Polak took his girlfriend to Sydney to shop the week he was banned. He has a drinking problem (allegedly), and the club seems to believe a change of culture might help him. There are Melbourne clubs definitely interested in him and prepared to throw the bucks around.

          what about laurence angwin?

polak would be tough to get as freo think he's god's gift to footy and would want heaven and earth for him. because he was a top 5 pick (?) and has done SFA they would want something good for him to ease the pain of losing someone with lots of potential.

and we all know what happens to players who leave freo.......
