    Anti-Swans vibe on WLF

Did anyone else notice a strong anti-Swans vibe on White Line Fever last night?

The newsbar at the bottom of the screen where they roll through SMS that had come in talked about the Swans "kidding themselves", how they hoped Sydney wouldn't win because the grand final would resemble an Auskick match and that Paul Roos was arrogant because he dared say all of Sydney was behind the Swans.

I know its hardly representative, but I found it interesting considering we usually have good support among the neutrals.

I definately noticed that. Alot of hate for the Swannies last night. Even Humphrey-Smith seemed to be having jibes at us.

Can't wait to shut up all the critics when we beat the Saints this Friday night.

I thought it was interesting when Mark Harvey said after a Swans caller had hung up words to the effect "you might as well go fishing this weekend, mate, cause the Swans are going to lose".

All this can only work for us. If they need any inspiration...roosy should show em a tape from 2003.

The pressure is on the saints.

I agree - we have just about the best run-in possible (in terms of external factors). Saints have injuries and everyone has written us off. Now we just need the team to fire up and deliver what they're capable of at their best.

Ahem. Our run-in is the worst. Two physically & mentally draining games. One was at Subi where most teams struggle to perform the following week (as we did). Now a trip to the G against a team who's had two weeks off. I'd have to admit we have more chance of losing badly than flogging the Saints. A lot will depend on both sides attitude.

After the disappointing way we lost to Brisbane in the 2003 PF, and the way the Saints rallied in the QF this year, I actually would be far more worried if we were playing at TS this week after a weeks break.

We have to beat them sooner or later, and we have to win finals at the MCG. I remain confident we can win.

Unfotunately Gehrig is not housebroken, so they may have a bit of trouble placing him.
