Our midfield was totally flogged by West Coast the other week.

No mention in that AFL preview about our superior ruck division
Surprising they don't mention that as we should smash them in the ruck. Even if it is offset by their midfield, it should still be acknowledged and assessed.

and so what if Harvey has been trying to win a flag for 17 years.

I couldn't give a stuff about Robert Harvey.
That you couldn't give a stuff hardly has much to do with assessments of the team.

Neither could I. We haven't won a flag for 72 years, so I don't feel for anyone.

"Totally flogged" and we were in front for much of the game. I guess the midfield contest isn't that important then?

His point is fair - "winning for Harvs" is irrelevant unless they also want to mention "winning for Roosy" or whatever. Melbourne dedicated their whole year to the memory of their tsunami victim and you'd think that'd be more important than a retiring elderly player. And that line didn't seem to work for Hart and Lynch with the Lions last year.

If you want to interpret it that way, or you could interpret that their forward line was completely ineffectual (at one stage they had 13 I50s for 1 point).

It's not really a motivation as such for StKilda I would think but rather a throw-away line from a journo running on from Harvey's amazing game the other week. It's sort of a natural follow-on that he played exceptionally well as if he is going to drag the Saints across the line himself. No different to so many other journo pieces.

I think most teams would hope to 'smash' StKilda in the ruck. However I think I'm right in saying they though are one of the worst teams for hitouts they are statistically among the best for clearances.

            I'm worried.

Skilts and Kel will be a great addition to the midfield. I just query their match fitness. Still I'm sure Roosy knows what he's doing.
