Originally posted by Mel_C I don't why it has been reported that St Kilda supporters are queuing for GF tickets because there is no over the counter ticket sales for St Kilda Members if they make the GF.
A work colleague is a Saints member and this morning he had to ring a number and register to be eligible for GF Tickets. If the Saints make the GF then those that have registered will be allocated GF Tickets...(until the tickets run out of course).
If they don't make the GF then they still have to pay a $10 Admin fee!!
Well I saw at least 20-30 Saints supporters queued up at Glen Waverley newsagent this morning and when I inquired about the line was told it was for "Sunday when the GF tickets go on sale"!
I think he meant they are given a queue allocation number at that location but I was stunned. I really would love to pass on this example of arrogance to the Swans team - anyone know an email address?
I think the $10 thing is if you are a Social Club member.
Originally posted by j s How is it different from our $75 Premiership Club?? It IS a lot cheaper!
This system only applies to social club members. "Normal" members will have to hope there are left-overs.
I don't know how much a Saints SC membership costs but it must cost some premium over and above a normal membership, so its really no different from the Swans' Premiership Club unless there are material other benefits from being an SC member.
One thing the Swans did with their PC membership that the Saints didn't with their SC membership is offer it in conjunction with any other type of membership (ie Melbourne and Country members, as well as full Sydney members). My Sydney-based Saints-fan friend bought herself an interstate Saints membership this year, giving her entry to 6 games, but didn't have the opportunity to get a GF guarantee with it.
we have to beat st kilda, id love to just forward some of this cockiness to the swans so they can fire up and smash this ********
this is out of a thread on sainsational (yes im bored and nothing is on but hot dogs super cool uplate omg its so cool gggggggaaaaaaaaaaame show)
It's only Sydney, not a good team like Adelaide or the Eagles.....I mean, the game against Adelaide in a way was much bigger - an interstate final. Friday night is should be a formality regardless of who is in the selected 22. I think as supporters we should be planning in our minds Grand Final week (not a flag just yet!) and be extremely disappointed and totally p***sed off if that doesn't eventuate. We should expect and tolerate nothing less from where we are at the moment!
that quote ****** me off
seems all there talk is about what strip too wear in the grand final :|

There was a queue at Telstra Stadium in 2003 by the way......

That queue started building up at 3Q time. We were only about 4 points down and had won just about every 4th quarter all year by big margins. I was very very tempted to go stand in the queue myself, but decided to stay and watch the game, but not many people at the ground would have thought we would lose from that point on, well, except for the Lions maybe.

Why was there a queue ??
I was at that game and there were no GF tickets until the following day. Queue tickets were being issued at the SCG (Not Telstra Stadium) - We were (almost) ready to jump in a taxi and go - but also decided to stay ...
