    schuable / ball / even

don't agree with this at all. Ball is a bloody amazing ruckman, id rate him as the best if not one of the best in the league.

I'm more confident. I think 2003 left me a little stunned at how well we were doing and I didn't expect too much. This year I think we have a better team and am more confident.

He's certainly not best or really close to that, but he's very good for us and I think this was just about the main reason why we lost in the 2003 PF.

A fit O'Loughlin would have been more than handy too.

Undoubtedly, but I think missing Ball hurt more than anything else in the PF.

Remember this is two years ago, so our young guys are 2 years better.

              OUT / IN / DIFFERENCE
Maxfield / Buchanan / Loss - 2 years ago maxi was a fine player
              Nicks / Demspter / Even
Cresswell / Bevan / Big loss.
              Saddington/ MOL / Big Win
Schauble / Ball / Win (Schauble cant make the team)
              Doyle / Jolly / Win-

I agree that the only player who the 2 years havent been kind too are Williams.

I don?t disagree with any of that really, I probably overrated Schauble although I was putting in the context of ?03 for him and him being able to completely shut down Alistair Lynch which was a huge plus for us.

The c1987 or 1996 GF team v 2005 team gets a bit of discussion around here. The upshot is that we pissed away opportunities in the the 80s like crazy.

If 96 played 05, Plugger would give Leo a run for his money while Dunks and co. would give a good contest with our current forwards. Our 05 rucks would beat Staff though. We discuss it nostalgically and without beer or statistical analysis. It's always a good game and Magic plays well at both ends.

I think going into the game with St Kilda the favourite will help us. Better to be the underdogs.
Feel committed more as a team in 2005 than 2003.

Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

I think he'd give Leo a fair old towelling to be honest.

I think '96 would smash our '05 side (well at least beat anyway).

Games from 10 years ago look lumbering. One of the developments of the modern game has been using the bench and increasing the tempo of the game. 96 might smash them but I don't think they'd catch them.

I agree. Strong backline, excellent midfield and the greatest FF of all time.
