Swans Family Day at the Aquarium

Did anyone in Melbourne go the Swans family day today at the Aquarium? I thought it was a great idea, especially as I had not been there before.

The players were all upbeat after last nights win. Leo, Kennelly and Jude were really really nice and all not bad looking either . Hall and Cressa were very shy.

    Cressa shy??

I didn't go because in the past few years the family days have been a rip off getting overcharged for entry then for food and then only a handfull of players turning up.

    I also didn't have a spare $20+++

I just booked my flights for the Brisbane game!!

I went and it was FANTASTIC.

      Much better than before.

Entry to the aquarium was cheaper than normal, so maybe the Swans subsidided that?

I took my two kids, 4 and 5 and was appalled by the way they were narly trampled on but adults acting like 15 year old girls trying to get autographs.
And most of them were 45+ y/o females.
They really needed an under 8 10 minute period were the kids are hurried through.

      Anyway, my observations.

      Nick Davis is pretty weird.
Has this 'I'm it and a bit' thing going, will be the next FIGJAM if he's not careful.
But he seems to have slotted in.
Appeared most of the time that it was his 'duty' to be there.

Adam Goodes was fantastic, he has his head screwed on.
Seemed to really take an interest in people when signing.

We had to swap our entry passes for food coupons which were all named in envelopes for some weird reason. Don't know why they didn't just do straight swaps.
But the good thing about that was that I was right where the break in the queue was when the players arrived and had to walk through it.
That was pretty weird, having most players walk past and say hello to me :lol

One of the best bits for me was my daughter winning the 4 y/o colouring comp. and having Stuey present her a Swans teddy.
      She was wrapt

Curesane I saw you and your daughter go to the front to get the award. She was very cute!!

I agree with you about the autographs. Instead of people lining up, people were just pushing in where their favourite player was and the poor kids were being moved out of the way. Some people were getting 5 different things signed and holding up the queue. In the end I gave up and started pushing in as well.

Cher I agree with you that other years it has been a rip off when they have held it at the Port Melbourne ground. I didn't go last year. This year the $20 included food, drink and 20% discount at the Aquarium Shop and cafe.

Thanks Mel, she is still talking about it to anyone who will listen.

It was great, because she loves leaopard and tigers, and she was talking about Richmond a lot.
We made a compromise on the weekend.

She will barrack for the Swans and her favorite player can be Stuart Maxfield lol
