    Cressa the Evergreen

How good was his game? He just kept on keeping on.

He has made a huge difference to the side since coming back from injury.

The great thing about this bloke, (and I was always a critic of his disposal) is that he has got better with age, and impoved his skills, unlike many players in the comp who reach a point in their careers when nothing ever changes.

Now when he gets the footy I don't cringe. His reading of the play and positioning is a delight, so now his copiuos possessions a game mean a whole lot more, and he seems to be more of a team player and leader.

Boy I hope he stays another year.
On Fox Footy last week he said he was moving to Brisbane to live, not play, next year, but did not categorically rule out the chance of another year. Almost ruled it out, but not quite.

On leaders - Stewie Maxfield is doing just fine. His courage and commitment on the ground is unfailing, and you can just see his desperation oozing out in every contest. Brilliant again last night.

Agree with all you said on Cressa. Fantastic at being able to get the ball and get it out to a player. Doubt if he'll play another year though, unfortunately.

Definitely improved with age, a player in our side who gives his guts and has still been able to give away decent disposals

A very rare player, is a four qauter player who NEVER plays two bad games in a row.

My claim to fame is that I actually played football against his older brother when I first started playing seniors and man was he tough

There is nothing anyone can say that will surpass my wonderment at my beloved Cressa.

The bloke is finished lets hope he retires at the end of the year and we can then get some young players in the midfield.

Cressa seemed to have found new purpose in playing again. If he could continue this form, I would love to have him going for another season. However, this might be his last throw of the dice and going again next year might be one year too many for him. Still, I cannot see anyone who could replace him in our list, at the moment. I dont believe Crouch could step in to replace Cressa. I hope Fixter would fill that role but it is still to be seen when Fixter is back. Outside this, I could not see any one in our pipeline who could replace him. We need a genuine ball getter to replace Cressa (e.g a Luke Ball/ S. Salopek) and a genuine line breaker (e.g. Hodge/ Headland) to get our midfield back again.

Have noticed that this season unlike his previous, he seems to be getting forward of the ball more. In the past he has tended to drift behind the ball and pick up easy possessions behind the play, especially when schwatta and dunks were playing.

Under the current management he is much more Dropped into holes, pushed forward, got in and under, won the hard ball. Just Great.

Most surprising of all though was the handball off to Tadgh whilst running into the 50.

What is the world coming to????

Cress definitly seems to have lifted a touch this year, if his body is up to another season I would glady see him playinf for the Swans in 2004
