    Kirky

    How good is he?

I had no doubt he'd be back to inspire the Swans.

Most players wouldn't return from that knock and not only did Kirky return but he was brilliant - (especially in 3rd term huddle!)

Kirky, you are a legend and the heart and soul of the Bloods.

Yes. I am off the Goodes-for-captain bandwagon and the Hall-for-captain bandwagon (I was straddling them both) and am a late recruit on the Kirk-for-captain bandwagon. Toot Toot!

      Kirk is always a captain

hence why hes called Captain Kirk

whether he has the title of "Captain" or not, hes always an inspiration too our players, and always first on the ball.

kirk gets knocked down, but he gets up again, ya'll never gonna stop him now.

I think I've finally jumped on board too, after favouring Goodsey for most of the year. Kirk has been sensational all year and this finals series has just kept on getting better. The 3/4 time address nailed it for me - you can just sense, even from the other side of a TV screen, that he had the boys completely entranced with what he was saying.

No arguments Liz, Kirk has seen the dark side, delisting, North Albury(!), he has the biggest heart in that odd little body, has been a champion again this year and has been critical in our comebacks, what about his 'Kelly like' work towards the end of the Geelong game,

Captain Kirk it is for me too!

Yep, I'm another late convert. His leadership in the finals has been superb.

Having said that, it would be mighty tough on Bazza if he missed the GF and effectively had the captaincy stripped from him. If suspended, he'll already feel that he's let the club down. Losing the captaincy would compound that significantly.

                    Kirk for Brownlow.

He was outstanding. I only saw his head drenched in his own blood on the replay because of where I was sitting. He looked pretty nifty in his head gear. The new Shaun Hart.

An outstanding exception to Roosy's oft-repeated comment that we are a blue-collar midfield. This bloke is an aristocrat of the midfield and atm not only do I want to see him as captain next year (as I have all along, although happy with the idea of rotation for this season) but I would pick him in my best of the AFL in front of ANY other midfielder for his combination of skills, guts, sheer determination and capacity to lead from the front. Should poll well in the Brownlow and how on earth he missed AA is beyond me.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Makes it even better, though, that he is a self-made "aristocrat" rather than being born with the silver spoon in his mouth, so as to speak.

What on earth happened in 2001/2 that he was on the outer? I'm not anti-Eade in the main, but not recognising that he had a potential star in his midst was a huge crime. It makes me shudder to think how close he came to being discarded back then.
