Too many blokes not up to it

I was very happy with our win on saturday night, however there are too many players in our side who simply aren't up to it. Leo Barry is one of them, how anyone can even suggest that he adds something to the side is beyond me. Jared Crouch is another one although i admit he played reasonably well on the weekend. Daniel McPherson (Frosty) is in the reserves and thats where he should stay. Jude Bolton is very average. Ben Mathews needs to have a good hard look at himself, he just continues to turn the ball over at critical stages. Schauble is far too soft and his skills at times are embarrasing. When these players are moved out of the side for younger players, the sooner we will be on track to win another flag, otherwise we will just go on the same way, just thereabouts. If Paul Roos is going to be a good coach he needs to make the call on some of these blokes, does anyone think to remember that he played with many of these players and has built a friendship with them, he is always going to look after his mates.

A super team will beat a team of Superstars.

Barry, Crouch and Mathews are better than you are letting on. Look at their roles within the club and gameplan before writing them off.

All these guys should still have big question marks over them. Nicks as well.
Mathews has never really cut it. How dare he not give plugger back number 4 !!!

I think you were watching the wrong game if you are criticising Leo Barry. He was easily in our top 3 players and went a long way to contributing to us winning. We need more players like Leo, not less of them.

Thats whats wrong with this teams culture. Both the club and supporters.
One good game and all is forgiven. Leo has under acheived for years and should still be made to account for him self and really prove that he deserves his place in the side over a younger player who could be anything.
same goes for bolton. (though jude is further down the path of proving himself imho).
It should not be an easy thing- gaining permenant entry into the starting 22. The Swans still need to become tougher all round, or we will not win a premeirship for another 50 years. Instead of encouraging one off performances and mediocrity, you people should be demanding a thourgh rebuild, and the development of the next super team.
Hell wev'e got the salary cap to do it . lets do it !

Come on. I think Leo has really come along in the last two years (since he went down back). Considering he came 11th in the best & fairest last year (after missing 10 games) I think he is going along quite nicely!! give the poor guy a go. He played a really good game - give credit where it is due. At least he is having a go!! We have some really pessimistic people on this board. Be happy for him that he is improving. If we all dwelled on the past we would get nowhere!!

Footyhead is the only one with any idea.

Leo runs out of the backline and doesn't know what to do with it, i cringe everytime he gets the pill. You people who think Leo Barry is a sensation, have a look at past games and see how bad his decision making is, he reguarly runs on to his right foot when he doesn't have a right foot to save himself. He is behind all the time.

You tell me this, would Leo Barry be playing in any other side in the competition?

How he is in the side ahead of some of the kids and Ryan O'Keefe is beyond me.

If we want to win another flag, we must be critical, remembering the club hasn't won one for 70 years.

Hey Plugger46, how come you didn't mention Rohan Warfe in your list that must go.

Why? Because I know for a fact that you reckon he is pretty handy. Therefore as far as I can see only you and Warfe's Babe are the only 2 on this site who rate him.

Also, nephew, I disagree with you on Crouch, Bolton and Mathews. I reckon they are all better footballers under the coaching of Roos. I doubt whether any of these blokes will get the "Lemonade" for some time yet.

                          Why Don't We

put Leo somewhere where he only has to catch the ball then?

Hmmm, Plugger46, methinks you may be only 1/2 correct.........

His decision making is not that bad. He hardly makes many mistakes. Sure he looks confused when he has it, but he finds the target most time. Since going down back he has added nor only run to the defence, but also height at the same time. Anyway its hard to make the swap from a forward to a defender, he still has his natural attacking style.

You tell me this, would Leo Barry be playing in any other side in the competition?
How can anyone tell, after all Sydney have a different style to most other clubs. I think however most clubs could find a use for him.

How he is in the side ahead of some of the kids and Ryan O'Keefe is beyond me.
Easy Ryan O'Keefe is more a midfielder/defender than Barry. Both play different types of football and heck, O'Keefe has never shown his full potental, expect for the role he played in the forward line late last year. If there is a better player on the team who plays the same role as Leo please tell me.

If we want to win another flag, we must be critical, remembering the club hasn't won one for 70 years.
Problem with this is way sack a player when you don't have a ready made player to replace him with. That does more harm than good
