yeah i totally agree with ya Reggi. i was just saying that their MCG performances havent been as dominant as usual and its a good thing that we're playing them there. I'm sure that Roosy will be planning for them at their best and will have the appropriate structures in place

But i'm sure that looking at the tapes from their previous MCG games wont be a bad thing and by roos seeing them live last week will be very important - especially setups around the stoppages

They have the best ruck division going around. To expect they won't fire in a GF is a bit unrealistic - the ground is more 'neutral' in the GF given that usually the crowd is not one sided.

This is going to be a far harder side to beat than St Kilda - where only two of their midfielders fired.

Their midfield fired in the first final & only got over the line by 3 points courtesy of inspired performances from their 23rd to 25th players.

Can't expect to mullify them - can hope to control them.

        Judd - Crouch (!!)
        Kerr - Mathews
Crouch is too small for Judd and Kerr is too quick for Mathews, IMO.

MCG is around 15 metres shorter than Subiaco - if their midfielders are as good as they were over there, may well be more damaging being closer to goal.

If Judd does one of his searching runs from the centre - he will be in goal scoring range. That's how they will kicka score big enough to beat us

When you have a gun midfield the MCG could be to their advantage, whereas the SCG was a bit cramped.

Equally I did not think we played really well at Subiaco and still should have one.

I expect this to be a close game with only a couple of goals in it at the end
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

alternatively, we may be able to congest half-forwards more and restrict their movement in. both outcomes are possible, it's a matter i suppose of who sets the pace early.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

this is a blessing : the old fox is always up to something - he loves sydney and roos. i reckon if we were looking for a coach around now he'd be up here like a shot.

filling their heads with the idea that they are about to embark on a three-year odessey of unassailable sucess is one of the best ways i've heard of ensuring a team will fail.

worsfold will be spewing about that.

In Melb based papers he has been slagging us off all finals

I think these statements are genuine, he describes us as 'average' and 'mediocre'. Think his genuine view is we are not very talented.

I don't think he is foxing

                          I must agree here.
Other coaches and ex-coaches don't rate us, and I would include Sheeds here.

Whoever plays on wirrpunda needs to play well. If he plays defence, someone like schnieder will probably start on him and he will have to maintain his attack, but keep wirrpunda on a tight leash.

Wirrpunda started forward last week i think. He is very dangerous and must be stopped.

Also the obvious ones in the midfield and also cant underestimate a player like hansen. He always presents and gives them a target which can bring the ball to the ground for their midfielders to run and goal. He is also quite a good kick. He will need a good defender
