We're in the Grand Final!

After 48 hours of reading useless threads on Baz, deciding that the banner was the most important thing on earth and reading all about mass hysteria on Brett Kirk for Brownlow I've decided to post on none of these things. I can't concentrate on work and I don't want a pseudo serious discussion about match-ups when both teams have major doubts (well, one for us).

So I'm soliciting like minded people to post here how they are feeling about us being in the Grand Final (I can't abbreviate that anymore)? The second last step towards winning a premiership is being in the Grand Final. We are one of only two teams to have the chance.

Way back in March I posted that this looked to be the year that the Swans had a chance if they didn't squander their chances. They did - and then they regrouped and now we're there!

I've been to three of the past four Grand Finals but stopped going last year as I said it didn't count for me anymore unless the Swannies were in it. Melbourne friends laughed. And now we are there. For those who haven't been before but are going this time, you'll find the experience amazing - and the whole of Melbourne with flashes of both teams colours. Walking into the MCG on Grand Final day with a huge mass of people in team colours and passing the vans selling Swans gear and handing out posters of the team and the sheer buzz is amazing. And it's all for our team this time. And that's the day after a city parade for the players we all know so well.

I'm loving the moment. How about you?

Hopefully I will get the vibe later this week as I'm not feeling it now. There is just too much going on to distract me from savouring the feeling! This is highly disappointing as it's only the second grand final we have been in since I have been following, which is 30 years this year.

First GF I ever saw live was to cheer on my favourite side to their second ever flag - the Eagles in 1994!!! Sat in the Members Stand a lone Eagles supporter among a bunch of pretty subdued Melbourners who weren't supporting Geelong but certainly didnt want the flag going out of the state either.

Anyway, it was a maginficent event - a chill still goes down my spine when I remember the roar before the first bounce.

So, I've come clean - I have a dirty Eagles skeleton in my closet. Still, if Jason Ball can see the light so can I!!

I'm on a high. I still can't believe it. Things have slowed down a little, which is nice because the last two days have been crazy. And the tears are flowing less regularly.

I can't wait. I can't believe it. I just confirmed my flight and everything is set. I keep looking at my tickets in absolute disbelief. My phone hasn't stopped ringing, I've been in the paper more times in the last few days than in my life before.

The thought that it is five days away is unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable

I'm looking forward to the big game, but Hall's likely suspension is making me pessimistic. Can we win without him?

I feel sorry for him too; getting rubbed out for an incident where most players of other clubs have had no case to answer.

It feels fantastic to be in the GF. Despite all the negative comments about the Swans this year (Demetriou, Walls etc), nothing will take away the fact that we've made it to the last Saturday in September. I have a inflatable Swan proudly displayed at my desk at work and I'm pumped for the boys to bring the Cup to Sydney for the first time.

This will be my first GF "Live" and I'm pumped.

I had decided to forgo the chance of going, for various reasons. And @ 9:05 this morning was feeling very miserable.

@ 9:15 I rang and got a ticket so I'm back on top, (until I read the Baz news, disappointed, but not unexpected).

yeah i'm really pumped to be in the GF however this incident hasnt made me as excited as i should be

its only because of how the boys are gonna react to all this. i just want it all to end as early as possible so its all over. then they can all concentrate on the game and bazza can prepare for the game without all the distractions

I've been in 99 and 01. I thought in 01 how good it would be to have the SWans in a GF and be there supporting your team.

Well here it is.

IMO I don't think the bandwagon is as big this year as it was in 96 but then there a many supporters who have stayed with the Swans since that year.

I"m a bit flat now with the thought of Bazza not being there but we'll keep our fingers crossed for a good defence.

Hopefully things will improve.

Very excited - my mind has been racing with possible matchups, what will happen to Baz etc etc. Things should settle down now the Match Review Panel has met and the tribunal process will take its course.

It's going to be a huge weekend.

I have been beside myself with excitement. I was cheering and screaming so loud Friday night, I barely had a voice for the rest of the weekend.
My house and office are now fully decked out in red & white with montages of various newspaper articles from the last week or so.
Can't wait for Saturday

Bah to be honest I couldn?t give a rats arse anymore. I think the AFL is a joke of a game riddled with so many conspiracies and inconsistencies its not worth my time.

I should be happy with a big smile ear to ear but instead i feel like we have just lost the grand final.

Even if Baz does get off it will have disrupted what should have been the best week for a footy fan and player.

I'm with you on this Diego. I have spent the past 48 hours in pure joy and now feel flat as a tack. I'm still going to training tomorrow to give the boys my support.

I wonder how the playing group feels. This is annoying like 1996, when the dunkley thing went on!
