My confidence is not high at all. Melbourne media is very powerfull and Victorians are very angry that they were rubbed out of the GF again and will not let this one go. AFL might look like a national competition, but in essence it's still VFL and very much influenced by the big clubs in Melbourne.
As I said, I'm not confident at all.

What about "Less confident than before that he will get off"?

My option isn't there - I thought he had a good chance of getting off. Now I'm less than 50:50 that he will.

That would be "more certain than before that he wont get off" ......I probably could have worded it all a bit better i suppose but "my head aint right at the moment".

I feel the same. Reading the HUN on saturday made me feel really angry. The crap that was written confirmed to me that it still is the VFL.

Look at the poster that was in the paper. Instead of saying "Go Sydney" it just says "Go Swans"

Most of the media down here are refusing to admit its "Sydney Swans" and are playing on the South heritage to justify things.

              Its friggen patronising.

Gee I am seetheing at the moment. I think he might be in a bit of trouble. But if football has come to men missing out on grand finals due to little love taps then the game has gone down the toilet, and will soon join soccer as a comercialised sport of ********.

I have created a save Barry Hall petition to see how many people actually want to see him get off. I am posting it in various different places to see what happens. Here it is.

Of course they will go to the trial and they will appeal but it is patently obvious that it will not be successful.

The quicker everybody faces up to that fact the better.

Well to many it was "patently obvious" after round 6 that we needed to go for draft picks.

Excuse me if I keep a hold of my blind optimism for now.

I don't think that it is OBVIOUS that the downgrade/appeal attempt will fail, any more than it was obvious that he had a case to answer in the first place!

If it was OBVIOUS, we wouldn't be having these discussions.

For mine, I'm just as confident as I was before hearing the charges, if not slightly moreso.

IMO, the MRP is allowing the AFL to save face by CHARGING Hall, then giving the tribunal a slightly open door to downgrade the charge to in-play, depending on their mood on the night. I think Barry is a bit lucky to cop negligent instead of deliberate - that would have been harder to prove wrong.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Because he did it and there are several precedents this year, some not as bad and some worse.

Secendly in the last few years the tribunal has seemed to go out of its way in GF week not to be seen as lenient.

I dont think he deserves to go but I didnt think Gehrig or Didak did either.
