    Rumour: Surprise retirement

We're in 'friend of a friend' claiming to have a 'source close to the Swans' territory here, so feel free to call bull********:

"A senior Swans player will announce his surprise retirement on the morning of the grand final."

First thought: Maxfield (surely he won't play on next year)
...but there was a strong indication that it is another player.

Paul Williams couldn't retire, could he?

Maxfield wouldnt surprise. Williams is a possibilty. So is Magic.

Wouldn't have thought maxfield would be a 'surprise' retirement. Could well be Willo.

Stephen Doyle? Heath James? Both could hang up the boots due to injuries....

Could be Willo. Retiring with a Premiership medal wouldn't be the worst thing to go out on.

Maybe it's Schauble - had a gutful of being left out of the side so is heading to Africa to work as a missionary?

Micky O or Willo would be huge losses.

Roos - will quit and join his mate Pert in the corporate world.

We've actually got quite a few who could do it - Fixter, James & Doyle because of injuries or those mentioned previously due to a mixture of age, injuries and it being a good time to retire.

I can't recall exactly where I read/heard it, but now that you mention Fixter, talk of him retiring springs to mind.

Soooo.....if my vague memory serves me correctly, it will be Fixter.
