    Recruits - What's doing?

I know it is only early, actually really early, but has anyone heard any rumours regarding recruiting for 06. With the pre-season for most clubs only a few weeks away it would be interesting to know of any new faces showing up to training.

I have heard along the lines that there has been a player exodus from the 2005 premiers. Some standout young players have left to test their luck in Melbourne and a few of the older players have retired.....

Unfortunately the Sydney AFL clubs are notorious for playing their cards very close to their chest when it comes to recruitment. There are reasons for that - as we saw, for example, with the (IMHO unjustified) flack that Wests copped on here over the Jason McPherson signing. But it has had the effect of clubs keeping their recruiting under wraps.

Joe Dirt could be partly right - North Shore have lost a few. But my mail is the 2 "standout young players" are doing pre-season with Essendon but will then return to North Shore. Unless they get drafted into the AFL - they've both nominated, but would be roughies to get picked.

Can confirm that Peter Dugmore signed with Saints last night before the AGM. Peter returns to the club after a season playing cricket in the uk.

The club is looking forward to having Peter back. He joins Damian Hall & Daniel Lowry(North Shore) for the 2006 season.

Plenty more to come. Will inform all once everything is confirmed.

Shearer, whats the latest on Dylan Addision in his quest to get drafted?

Will saints get back any players from '04 such as Featherstone or Donoghue?

Everyone else, whats the latest on Jack from Penno?

Toddy Featherstone is pretty settled into the Gold Coast as all his family have moved up there.

Declan is contracted to the Northern Bullants for the 2006 season.

Im confident Dylan will be picked up.

good to hear dugmore is back yet could be set to lose some U18 who have to move up with some looking at other sports and other clubs . I expect a big year though for the club with solid recruitment and depth which we lacked a bit last year

That's great news for St George about Dugmore. He's a quality forward and gives the Crows a much-needed focal point in attack.
There's some good talent coming through the ranks at St George. Some of them were thrown in the deep end this year, but they'll be better players for the experience; and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Crows returned to the finals next year.

I see Tim Jones is back at the helm at UNSW-ES, having previously coached the Doggies back-to-back in 2002/03.
Rumours are that Luffy is close to re-signing. It'd be interesting if Luffy and Vasdekis both play next year - would Jones be the first coach in any team ever to have 2 former coaches playing under him?
