    Collingwood Community Camp Sydney Visit

February 7th through the 9th sees Collingwood in town for the annual Community Camp visit to Sydney.

This year the Baulkham Hills City Council are their host and a myriad of activities have been planned.

The easiest way to see it all is to visit www.eastcoasteagles.com.au and click on the link from the home page.

As well as School visits, Forums and clinics, Collingwood are making their entire coaching and playing list available for dinner at the Castle Hill RSL Club on the evening of February 9th.

Proceeds from this dinner will be totally allocated by the Eagles and the Kellyville Magpies to the new ground complex at Kellyville, due to come on stream in 2007.

Prices for the dinner are varied as guests can choose to pay an additional amount to be included on a table with the Collingwood stars. The following link http://www.eastcoasteagles.com.au/fo...h_the_pies.pdf will take you straight to the document publicising the dinner, but you are encouraged to also examine all other activities that are happening by visiting the Eagles website.

Further information will progressively appear on the Sydney AFL website.

Great to see the West Coast Eagles offering more and more support to its sister club East Coast Eagles.
East Coast Eagles captain Jon Vlatko and teammate Craig Robinson will spend this week training in Perth with their West Coast counterparts as the pre-season heats up for both clubs.

Also with the ECE new ground (A proper oval and facilities) coming on stream in 2007 the club has a good future.

        You're kidding aren't you mate?
The only team worth having is the one with the Cup.

In that case you should come down to Wollongong & check out the team with the Cup.

Details I am sure will appear on a separate thread (memo to Henry) - I know that a big dinner is planned on Thurs Feb 9 with tickets at reasonable prices.

For only an hour or so drive away, where else can you enjoy a night with the Swans in 2006???

Obviously I would love to do that - it certainly would be a trip worth doing.
Unfortunately, at two hours drive from here (not counting peak hour), it is certainly too hard to get there on a weeknight.
Bugger - maybe they'll bring it to the Hawkesbury?

Hopefully after work if I get off early enough.

Bugger about me having to stay in retirement though.

                    For a day.
                    I missed it.

2-3 Pies will be visiting my work (school) on Wednesday as part of this Sydney trip.

I will have to wear my red & white, as my husband has told me I must.

Heard about that a week after it happened.
Would have been good if it was publicised before the date.
Oh well, will have to console myself by watching the Swannies win it a twin brother this year.
And then I can (hopefully) see them both!

Well, our visit went very well.

I did wear my Premiers 2005 shirt... and admitted I was a big Swans fan, but Blake Caraella said: "There's nothing wrong with that."

The guys; Caracella, Nick Maxwell and Rookie Shannon Cox from the WAFL, were really nice guys.

                        Highlight of the visit:

Caracella: "Can anyone name any coaches I've played under?"
kid: "Is it that Eddie guy?!

                        We all laughed so hard.

I also took all the older kids for sport that morning, showing them basic skills in handballing and drop punts. (not time for much else).

Not bad for a Teacher Librarian!!
