    Powell to join Sydney AFL???

Any club interested in getting their teeth into a highly talented but troubled individual could be well served to have a look at this.
Our ex-Swan - who I will always consider highly for the way he took the Kangaspews for a ride and delivered us Ryan Brabazon - could be looking for a club somewhere in the Sydney AFL.
He'd be a damn good pick up here if you can get him to commit.

"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

      Yet another informative reply Angel.

Powell would be a welcome addition to any side, could he follow his ex teammate - Heath James to the Uni boys ??

        Be careful Scooped.

There are some very thin skins around here.

But I am sure those with the thin skins will have the cheque book out for Mr Powell to continue there there fruitless efforts to make the finals.

Good to see they've not only found another home ground and have yet more excuses. But dont fear the new super oval is still on the way. Get ready for more excuses when it is not ready again next year.

Its been going to happen since 1999.

            Powell

Firstly North Shore Angel, your replys totally lack any substance and insight whatsoever. So just stick to cooking the BBQ at Gore Hill. Speaking of which, gore hill is looking in pretty good shape. The new grass has taken on nicely. It will be intresting to see how it holds up after the first lot of rain in football season.

Powell would be a great pick up for any team (as would any ex swans player) but this becomes a time for those teams that pull out the cheque books. I guess we will see a race between North Shore, East Coast and Uni (maybe wests). It always seems to happen like that. Atleast two of those teams have gone on with it once they have aquired such players. We are still waiting for the third.....

            So where will he go??

Whats with your hatred for East Coast? And when was the last time you played in finals? It may have been last year, but you dont seem to say anything about it....do you play and who for?And dont worry i'm not East Coast, just want to know the reason behind your venom towards them.(and i'm sure others are curious.)

                East Coast

Maybe i can explain some of the anti-East Coast sentiment around here. They really havent done anything in SAFL but promise the world with their money and new recruits but what eventuates......nothing. Their arrogance on the field is just laughed off because the ultimate reply is to laugh in their face and ask them 'when did you guys last make the finals?'

So when things arent going that well, they think along the lines of buying a premiership (like wests nearly did last year) but then this fails and they miss the top four again!

Presonally each year i believe East Coast are very strong and will finally break the hoodoo. Each year they come out, knock off the premiers from the previous year and then loose to the two bottom teams (im just talking in general). There is definately a lack of consistancy. But once again, i do believe that they will probably make the finals this year. They have a good balance and i guess we will see what happens....

They really are a great club with alot of passion especially with the family and friends that help around the club. Their administration with their forward planning, initatives and development is probably the best in the league. Its only a shame they havent seen some better results on the field along the way......

A club would be mad not to talk up their chances year after year-how would their sponsors feel if they continually said "Finals???we have no chance of that,we'll just coast along til footy trip time"they certainly would stop the cash flow.Yes Coast have talked up their chances, and yes they havent won a senior flag-besides reserves, which some clubs still havent done-but time will tell.Give them a solid home base(like all other premiership winning teams of the past have had)and their phenomenal off field work will bear fruit. This is in no way a biased plug from me-i played with Baulko many years ago but have no affiliation now-but the time will come when they will prove all and sundry wrong. It may very well be this year, thats footy.

                    East Coast

I do agree with you Pekay but most clubs are quietly confident in their ability, it seems East Coast talk themselves up to hide their lack of ability. Most people are sick of East Coast talking themselves up yet they still cant make the top four (and we are talking firsts here). And when they dont do it, all the excuses in the world come flooding back! I think this is was Mr Bear was talking about before.

That is the beauty of forums, we can put down how we feel, and let all read it.I'm probably more interested in which club Bear hails from. But its all good. And shouldnt it be DIRTE'?

                        Memo Joe Dirt,

According to their annual reports Pennant Hills spent almost $70,000 more on their football department than the eagles. When we talk on this forum about "buying premierships", some factual substance would go a long way to enhancing your credability. It is easy for anyone to post whatever they want on this site, that is the beauty of it, free speech. It would be good however if occasionally people posted something that contains factual evidence to back up their statements.

It may be more of a case that East Coast are the most pro-active in publicity,be it for their club,or new players gained. The Eagles website is pretty much always the first site i look at when going thru Sydney footy, because i know it will be recently updated(theres no real reason why i look, just a general footy nerd i guess)and is always informative.Maybe people see it differently, each to their own i guess. But i wish i had the resources at my club that East Coast have. And most others do as well i reckon.

                            Well, well, well......

After a hibernation period in Gotham City fighting crime and taking care of Catwoman, Batman is back in town a looking forward to watching another year of Sydney footy unfold.

On glancing over the last few months posts there are a few points i have noted:

                            1) Pekay's boss must be one of the more generous bosses out there. In a standard 8 hour day im guessing he must spend a solid 3-4 hours per day on this web site! Good value though so keep up the good work.

                            2) There is still a bit of anti ECE sentiment floating around. They have certainly taken the lead role in the most hated club category but no one can doubt their sound organisation base as a club. Their web site is first class! And it appears as though a few new recruits are there again.......i wonder weather this year we will finally see all the ECE pre season hype turn into anything out on the field! I hope they dont finish 5th again!

                            3) Mark Powell is floating around Sydney and may well be in the SFL in 2006?? Any news here?

                            4) Joe Dirt, get a hair cut........and back some of your claims up with solid facts for once! You would be a fair chance for a writers position at Womans Day with the amount of heresay you put out there!

Im off to the Bat cave!
