That is unfortunate, but it was the only sour incident reported in 20 games of football.

          Pete,

I think you will find that the pink Sherrin was obtained from one of the Melbourne Clubs who were using them in training to commemorate National Breast Cancer day.

Genuine footy in all respects, except that it was pink ...

                  scooped...

The young bloke is an 18 year old from Riverviews Under 18's 2005.

He was backman giving a bath to a talented irishman who normally dominates his code of football. When jogging back into position the Irishman (Backpacker i believe) came from behind and kicked him in the back of the knee.

Thus a dislocation occurred and out for approximately 6-8 weeks.

The player has had this injury before or a similar injury.

My info is the Balmain boys did there best to get square...

                  Back to the factory!

Interesting to read that it is pre existing injury (happended before) given they are looking at taking legal action.

spose they have to look at legal action as this would be best fund raising effort they have done in many years.

sad though if they are looking at that option, things happen on the field, not always right but this doesnt warrant legal action.

Always a shame when those words rear their ugly head....especially when we all play for the love of the game.If this goes ahead-who is liable?I'm not real up to speed with the whole litagation thing, but who else gets implicated? His own club? The organiser/s?I think its pretty rough, this lad has a point with wanting to see justice, but does he realise the effects it will have? I know i've suffered an injury that couldve resulted in legal action, but at the end of the day,we are playing footy, not marbles.....

Seems like a reasonable stance in a game that in teh scheme of things did not mean a lot. Bigger than trying to square up during the match anyay.
