I think some teams in the BDAFL have improved, while some have dropped back to the pack, but the overall competition is closer due to those factors.

From this year i have only seen East Coast and Balmain from the SFL, and although they were only trial matches, I'd say the standard that the Eagles were at was pretty damn good.

Congrats to your blokes last week too. Can say that the ressies game was played in good spirit although I would have liked to have had our full complement on the field so I didnt have to play.

Thanks mate, I would say that games between our two clubs have always been played in a pretty good spirit from memory.

Good to see the improvement from you guys since last year as well. I know what it's like to go long periods without winning games and it becomes a perpetual circle where guys get discouraged with the lack of success and give it away, leaving the rusted on guys to battle it out by themselves with no prospect of success.

I think Parramatta have got to take at least some responsibility for their own demise though. The coach they appointed at the beginning of last season has a bit of a history, and if they had done their due diligence they would have discovered that for themselves. He applied for our senior job a couple of years previously with all sorts of big claims, which were easily disproved with one phone call.

Bugs Bunny or Kevin Sheedy could have been named their coach last year & it wouldn't have made much difference to how the club is going now.

I would think the loss of the likes of Templeton, Crisp, Nicholas, Cruttendon and Vaseliks (excuse my spelling) would put a hole in any team. I accept injuries to other players at the club dont help dosent every team have some problems??

UNSW have not set the world on fire with any only two wins against any Balmain and Norths. Their last two weeks against Wests(who have lost heaps) and Campbelltown(rebuilding) are not flattering. The UNSW 2s were down at half time to a side who has only won a handful of games in the past 3 years!

I am not trying to denegrade any team, club or person but I cannot compare the UNSW club on a whole to their mighty sides over the past few years. I feel the facts speak for themselves though correct me where necessary.

I am not going to go into detail on a publicly open forum over the internal happenings of our club, injuries, departures etc, but i can say that i (as a player) am extremely confident you will see a much stronger UNSWES as the season progresses.

I saw Cardiff in round 1. They had a win but I suspected they were about 10 players short from the GF 05. That team was OK but were a cog or 3 under the lofty standards they set.

Terrigal must have had truckloads out over the first few rounds as they seem to be just hitting their straps npw. Killarney have lost quite a few and are obviously not as good as last year.

Warners are on fire but are they that good or coming up against weak oppsoition. I think the latter. From all reports their side is similar to last year.

Fairly accurite assessment Coastal. We were missing a heap against Killarney Vale & there has been a mass exidous from Terrigal and Killarney Vale.

Warners are playing well, which is probably he fact that young 16/17 year olds are now 19/20 and legitimate first graders as opposed to "good young players". They only lost by 8 agianst us, and it will be intereting to see how they go in the return bout.

Having seen all the teams play now, i'd safely say the top 3 will be us, Warners and City, with Killarney, Terrigal and big improvers Gosford to fight out the next 3 spots, with Nelson Bay and Wyong in for a long year
