Yes all three matches at Rosedale on Sunday were definite nailbiters ... and all showed some pretty good standard of footy. A great advertisement for the game with all matches played in the right spirit. The ground was in pretty good nick - a bit dusty/sandy but that has to be expected in this climate.
I heard that it was Campbelltown u/18s first win in a few years (??) & they were a happy bunch afterwards. By the looks of their side, they will win a few more games before season's end.See me run a marathon again as a leprechaun?

Not very fair on the teams that only have one team if clubs with 2 teams can interchange players! On The TrailComment

I've seen East Coast Eagles 2 weeks in a row now. They look far & away the most professional skillful team in the SFL. They literally tore the hearts out of the Bulldogs. With quality players such as Clark Keating's brother in ruck & former Sandover medalist Gus Seebeck at full forward, I can't see any SFL team getting anywhere near them.
You can see that the Eagles from Perth have spared no expense in assisting them. The coaches are all in Eagles jackets and hats & are all miked up a la AFL coaches. They look so much more professional than everyone other team I have watched this season. That little rover #58 can play too. He kicked a couple of excellent snapped goals.
Still it was completely crazy to have both teams on Saturday playing in royal blue strips. I know SFL clubs are run on the smell of an oily rag, but surely one of the clubs could come up with an away top so that that sort of guernsey clash could be avoided. When I looked down the other end, it just looked like 40 blue blobs running around the field.

Looks can be deceiving- ECE
All huff and puff ECE like previous years. Reminds me of last year- did they make the finals?
Wearing hand me downs from an AFL club is hardly looking the part.
As for number #58, im sure if uni put little Roberts on him he would not have got a kick. Actually Roberts would have been a marking option!!!
I do agree that ECE would be favourites at this stage
1.80 ECE
2.75 Penno
4.50 St George
12.00 Norths
20.00 Wests
25.00 C'Town, Uni
66.00 Balmain, Wollongong
Even though Im a Penno supporter, would mind a piece of Crows and Norths at these prices

Looking at the results for the last few weeks i sure others have seen Pennant Hills over that time and may well say the same thing. But the games won by 100 plus points mean nothing once the top teams meet later in the year. ECE can have all the jackets/hats/trousers/microphones they like but that really means little as far as on field results go. However with big guns like Clarke Keating's brother firing they will certainly be a top team for 2006. How didn't Keating get drafted when he was a young fella??? Surely the Swans must have fancied him after taking Simon Feast, Gerrard Bennett, James Meiklejohn and now Paul Chambers over the last few years???Comment

H&T. Sorry to pose a conflicting view. You would actually be surprised how far advanced we are.
May I ask what team you support and your involvement?

Your right Ash, I would be surprised, very surprised.
I actually have connections at a couple of clubs after moving from interstate (an AFL state).Comment

Having a son play in AFL or you carry a water bottle at SAFL level doesnt make you an expert
Im actually referring to intelligence and was not discussing the state of the league.
I too have playing experience in and connections at other state associations. Big deal. SO do many others. However, a minority of us are aware, some a few cents short in a dollar.
You may even be in the minority but I can only analyse what I read.
You involved with ECE I assume and team going well. To thumbs up

AnAFL state that only has one more team than QLD or NSW. Wow, you must know your stuff. Especially when these two non-afl states have won how many many of the past 5 GFs???
H&T, please buddy, tell someone who cares.
