    Fox Footy

I would like to congratulate those who selected the televised game for this round

Finally they have had the commonsense to read Ash's picks for eselection (Once again picked closet match).

As much as I would like to see Penno play each week, no shame in asking me what game you should telecast.

Next week Campbelltown v ECE. Town playing for their season.
Even though a cracker, being an avid Penno fan Id like to see them play StGeorge on tele in rd 13.

    Even better,
    Rd 12 Penno v Wests
Rd 13 St George v Penno
    Rd 14 Wests v ECE
Rd 15 - who cares (why not Penno)
Rd 16 Wests v St George
    Rd 17 StGeorge ECE
    Rd 18 Wait and see

Campbo v Eagles or Penno v Wests next - come on, we need to know so we can organise with the clubs.
As much as we'd like to, we can't do them both.
Please make a decision because we are in a total quandary.

      BMR,
All I am doing is assisting the powers to be.
I am not paid by the AFL to make labyrinth decisions such as match of the rd.
Penno it is- thats for free.

You again picked the closet match? Is there something you want to tell us, Ash?

          Fox Footy Channel is dead.

Thats a shame as it is one of the few reasons why an interstate player may consider playing in this comp.

"just becuase fox footy is over doesnt mean Sydney AFL has to die as well we can look at the aurora channel on foxtel in a deal similiar to the NSW Premier League Soccer , also TVS or perhaps even ABC2 because it imperative for this competition to be succsessfull to gain tv coverage because every AFL body nationwide does except Sydney AFL "

Thought this might be an interesting quote my collegue here at the station made on his show about the Sydney AFL

Maybe you should ask the clubs marketing and sponsorship departments whether they would like to continue to have a presence on TV...

I understand your points but why do you think the standard is so poor.

                  1. Nobody knows it exists
                  2. Getting on TV will gain exposure and players , sponsors , amd more improtantly MONEY come with that exposure .

Its hard enough for people out my way to know who the Balmain Tigers AFL are let alone the Balmain Dockers .

Who say s we cant continue with the people who boradcast for us at the moment , then we just forward it to Aurora , TVS , ABC , SBS however. IF we out source the production costs it is more likely that tv stations will take a look at SFL footy becuase it is less out of their hip pockets.

I agree with Wood$y that whether the SFL is on tele or not wont have any bearing on the survival or prosperity of the league. Great to have it but big deal when its gone. (No offence intended to any fox footy staff with the SFL who do a great job putting the product onto air.)

will miss Fox Footy channel & SAFL MOTR each Fri night. Some things in life we take for granted & don't realise their worth til its gone.

Being quite aware of the typical production costs for an hour TV show, I can tell you that we get quality/value for money given a shoestring budget.

Well done to all concerned in the past few years. I know that alot of my friends from non-footy life have been introduced to a game or two via FFC & have enjoyed it.

Rafters, as always you make valid points.

Fox Footy coverage was a great incentive for interstate players to join the league.

I too would like to thank them for their services and insightful commentary this season.
