Maybe the league should take action and strip points and/or heavily suspend these players from the competition if so be.

It would be sad but maybe these players are not really at fault and are under instructions from the coach whose tactics include thuggery. Im sure its only a matter of time before an opponent has enough and instead of blaming the players take the same action against the coach that he may instruct his players to do. That would stop it.

Just a thought.

One for Wests though is that it was well directed as the ECE player on receiving end probably deserved it.

I don't see any cause for stipping competition points, but the players involved could be in trouble - but that's for the Sydney AFL commission to investigate. I don't know if any ECE players "deserved it" - there may have been a comment behind play, but I didn't hear it so it's only speculation.

I heard there was an allegation of a racial slur. It does not condone a spectator jumping a fence though. I would think this is unchartered waters for any judiciary.

I was actually at the Wests V ECE game on Saturday unlike a few people that tend to make assumptions based on their biased opinions. I prefer to report facts rather than speculation. Firstly to clear up Peter Hoare's comment, sorry Ash's comment re the coaches instructions. I spoke personally with Kev after the game and he was embarassed by the player in question actions. He instructs his players to be hard and physical but does not ask them to do what was done on Saturday. Ben Mac and Eid Kassem have a history of verbal stoushes on the field and this is where it starts and finishes. They play hard and both enjoy a bit of an exchange. This is not what caused the problem on the weekend. It was just a push and shove until Eids brother jumped the fence, in moment he would probably regret, and become involved. I think you will find Ben and Eid have met since the game and all issues between them have been resolved. This still leaves the big question of what will the league do about Eid's brother? Action should be swift and the penalty large enough to serve as a deterent so we don't see this happen again in SFL ever.

Not the first time this has occurred - however if Racial Vilification was the spark I would expect a pretty hefty suspension as well as an appropiate penalty for the alleged fence jumper.

So everyone has decided that this is a case of racial vilification....

Obviously because the brothers from Wests are involved - it must be, because they are just quiet boys who just love a good game of footy and have no history of violence in the game... (sarcasm for those not smart enough)

And once again, thankyou for all the informed comments by those who were NOT at the game.

Thankyou also for those who have named the players and made allegations about them without a scratch of evidence.

Thankyou for all those posters who are taking pot shots at the East Coast player and accussing him of racial vilification - I love the internet, you can get away with things that would normally see you wind up in court.

Get real people. In the real world, people base their opinions on facts and I will wait for the facts to come out on this one before I name players and accuse them of illegal activities. One thing though, I will not be waiting for the facts to arrive on this forum. There seems to be some sort of fact filter that runs in the background, letting only ill informed opinions and potentially libelous slander through

moderators beware.

Dont through me in that mix I merely stated IF it was the cause and yes your are correct there is a history of violence there.

I genuinely do not where the reputation they are thugs has come from particularly since they moved to Wests. Does hard tackling and tough play constitute thuggery? I have never seen a stray elbow or high hit from any of them over this period. Correct me if I am wrong.

What people speculate wont matter. All should be revealed in time when the league takes matters into their hands.

Racial Villification is an extremely sensitive subject.The league have already set a precedent this year by giving Rod Craig a 3 week suspended sentence after he threw a number of punches in the fiasco between St George and Campbeltown and used Racial Villification as his defence.Did this send a message to players that if you are provoked in this manner then you can take matters into your own hands and escape penalty, or does the fact that it is the Kassems that are involved mean this defence is null and void and they should not defend themselves.Are the people calling for their heads being discriminative and racist.Surely if you accept one racist provocation as an acceptable defence 3 weeks earlier you would need to accept this one to avoid the slur of discrimination.
