How did people see the game .......I must say St George showed some real good signs but I mean they have some problems they should fix . Firstly their player rotations are too few and some of the changes they made on Saturday Night where ridiculous . Wilson came off looking spent then went back out as a swap for Craig about 2 minutes later while young Santarosa was fresh on the bench and they where 7 goals down. Santarosa is a natural onballer and has been on fire in the lower grades playing in that position and yet he remains on the bench and only played 1 quarter of the game. Also I thought the blonde player Roo or Rowe or something should get more game time as well. He is very underated as is Santarosa and Even young @@@@ens has a case as well he didnt get alot of game time himself . Also East Coast do all the little things always shepperding and crumbing in numbers , St George didnt do that on Saturday night . Although showing good endevour playing a man short they still have big areas to work on . Im not sure what goes on down at the club as I have been away from the scene for a couple of years but im not sure about these Co-Coaches and given that I have only attended the last 3-4 matches I may not be in a position to really comment , but what are others thoughts on my opinions and I know some Crows players get on here ......what do you guys reckon !!!!!!!!!!!!

This might sound stupid, but Saturday night was the best we have played this season. To lose a player for a whole game 10 minutes in and then lose another for 15 minutes in the 2nd quarter was a massive blow.
Our guys worked there asses off and never gave up at any time. You might of noticed we were playing an undefeated side, not the blind.
We have plenty to work on i agree but saturday night showed that we wont be "the cannon fodder" everyone expects us to be in the finals.
Crows Nest, Thanks for coming down on the weekend and we look forward to your support in the finals. -
Fellas, please air indifferences at Olds.
Do you think a public forum is appropriate?
If you were amongst us at Pennant Hills out find you out and stake you. (The Crows Nest) You are obviously close and know the players.
Remember Crows have a playing list similar to us at Penno that are inexperienced with majority of the players having played under 50 senior games. Remember this team only won 5 games last year and have done well to make finals (well they should).
Conversely, ECE have a list where majority have played over 150 games at higher levels.Comment

But is good to see that you are astute enough to note that they still can miss out!
I notice shearer is talking finals already...lucky they were given a game they did not win.On The TrailComment

I thought there were some good signs for St George. They were missing Dugmore, but James Wilsen at full-forward looks to have a great future. It can be little things that turn a game - and a couple of incidents in the second quarter, Demir having 15 in the bin then Wilsen running into an open goal and losing his balance; stopped any real chance of St George getting back into the game. But, as Shearer said, it was a good fighting effort.
But who's going to beat East Coast? They're an awesome side this year and keep getting better - they're raised the bar for our competition this season and it'll be a challenge for other clubs to raise their standards to match them. That running tag-team goal where Ritchie set up Smyth was unbelievable.

As dominant as ECE have been this year, I dont think any of the other semi-final sides would think they did not have a good chance if they were to line up against them in the GF. ECE have little semi-final experience as a team and as others have said, other teams need to look no further than last year for inspiration.Comment

Id have to agree with Shearer Crows played well considering the circumstances , i went down to the game cos im from around the area and being a balmain man i must admit i dont see them play much but their first half of the opening term was sensational they completley outplayed East Coast in certain parts and chipped it around well . Good to see Kanga Coach bears no grudge to his previous employer.................good luck Kanga anyway with this week should prove an exciting round.Comment

House, I did manage to see 5 players running around in the twos that will immediately replace these U19s next week or at least in finals.
Conversely, Crows looked to have 3 x16yrs old, 2 x 17 yr olds and 3 x19 yrolds.
That said, it probably shows that ECE are not the force people think they are as a more mature side would easily account for them. They did move the ball ok ece but without Gus they would be unlikely to even make finals.
Id get money on Penno. Remember we've had our Gus (Laine) out for an extended period and Micky should return. Our toughest opponent will be 1st semi v Crows.
Penno for flag.

Ash,
Thought you might be interested to know that on Saturday night East Coast had 5 players aged 19 or under and one 20 year old. I think at times people like to gloss over this fact and put ECE success down to their recruiting.Comment

Of course, the East Coasters are a one man team. I have not seen him play, but he must be good to be able to win the ball from the centre, patrol the backline and kick goals at full forward. All of the others are bit players to the footballing spectacle that is Seebeck. He must be quick, tall, good below his knees, be able to take the best forward, tag the key midfielder and kick a bag.
I am sure that it is only Seebeck who has given the eagles a percentage of nearly 200, with the best offensive and defensive record at the moment.
How on earth did they win the three games he wasnt there for - although I did notice that he didnt kick any goals against Penno. who is the superstar fullback at Penno that held this one-man football team that day?
GET REAL...........
No side can go undefeated because of one player.
I just hope that someone can make a contest of it come finals time, you would be a fool not to back an undefeated side as favourites for the flag.
but if the shoe fits...........................Comment
