    5 games difference.

Nothing personal, the new players only replaced your crew as many you mentioned did not play much this year or were inreserves or 1st division last year.

Kanga, I respect your opinions and understand why they may be personal from your previous posts but the Crows and your team have a similar team in regards to age and experience.
Nothing personal Ash but my post was merely pointing out your error in assessment and no way a slight on the players at St George, who for the record are good blokes and I am still mates with most of them.

I was also pointing out that the Crows had recruited well and not many clubs who recruit a complete spine and midfield would not improve.

Yes, three players also left when I was sacked. It was in the first half of the year and if you think the Crows had a yound side this year you obviously have no idea about the teams make up over the previous 3 years.

I realise you are a supporter of the Crows/Penno? and like to talk them up but I have to say your judgement on them being a young inexperienced side is a joke. Their core group of senior players would be as experienced and played as many games together than any of this years finalists. As I mentioned earlier, with due credit to them I am also of the opinion that they recruited the best as well.

Ash you put some good stuff on here from time to time but I have to say this time your are no where near being accurate.

After a tight, entertaining struggle in the first half, Penno came out in the third quarter and ramped the physicality up a notch, as you would expect in finals footy.
St George never gave up and fought the match out to the end, but Penno's experience from playing in (and losing) two finals last year let them know exactly what they needed.
It's no coincidence the blokes who came off second best were key Crows - Donoghue, Demir, Turner etc - Penno saw they were the ones most likely to take the game away and when they went near it they were hit just a bit harder.
As previously said, Demir copped a couple of high ones that had him seeing stars - I didn't see the first one, but the second one was a clothesline when he wrong footed the Penno defender (Clarke).

The difference was Penno knew what it took and a lot of St George needed that game - plus the absence of Hall and Kinnard crippled them before the match even started.

Yes, I am aware St George played in the 2004 grand final, but this is a totally different team, whereas Penno is not much different to to the 2005 version.

Well done to St George on making the finals, and well done to Penno on winning this match - even if they go out on Sunday for the same third placed finish, they would have to say winning a final makes this a better season.

Demir will be pumped that someone has finally worked out that he is a key player, he is too good a player to start on the pine most games.

He will also be happy to find out who it was for the old memory bank. It must of been a good hit, broke his nose and split his eye open.....they must of been targeting the soft blokes?

Must have the wrong bloke who hit Demir.

Clarkey couldnt knock the skin off a bannana custard let alone break a nose and split someone open.

We were outplayed on the day by a better side. It was a blow not to have Toddy, Hally & BK there on the day but we still thought we had the side that could win it.

Unfortunately to lose Shane for a period, then Dan Turner & Dec in the space of 5 minutes really hurt us and with 10 to go in the 3rd quarter we only had the use of one on the bench. Against a team with such a strong midfield you need to rotate players as often as possible and we couldnt do that.

As bitterly disappointing as it was,Im proud of the way the guys worked right to the end but it wasnt to be.

                Shearer

Well done on making the finals. I didn't see the game but was very suprised to see the result and the margin.

I know you had a few out but I was suprised that Penno's 4 most dangerous goal kickers contributed 14 goals between them.

Was there a plan to shut them down and who did you match up on them?

                  Fellas move on.

Take 3 of a teams best 6 players at any level and you're in trouble, especially 2 of your 3 main strike weapons and centremen.

Should be a cracker this weekend with Wests getting up.

Oh Kanga, I see you congratulated Shearer on his effort but didnt you just say that Crows should have finished higher up the ladder?

Make your mind up or go with one of them.

                      Question for you Rafters.
How is the young bloke that got hurt in the semi on Sunday?
It didn't look too good at half time?

I am sure that Kev "Warnie" Pritchard would appreciate the young comment - this is the official line I got earlier in the week

"still in wollongong hospital. no great pain or discomfort, just stiffness in the neck. he has a small fracture in one of his neck vertebrae. having an mri at 3.30pm this arvo. if it doesn't show anything unusual (apart from the fracture), he should be going home this arvo. light duties for a few days and wearing a daggy neck brace for a couple of weeks."
