Being Father's Day and all, I left as soon as the siren sounded. I havent heard of any off field dramas. Kev cops a bit of flak but whether its justified or not is immaterial when individual members of your team play that bad. Maybe its the new strip and the collywobbles working here. Afetr all, Wests are 0-3 since the new jumper was introduced.

Now now Humphrey - no need to be spiteful - you didn't exactly do much this year yourself if memory serves me correctly - would you like to remind everyone else??

I think the ECE club should be congratulated on their turnaround in improvement in 2006.

Not everyone can win the premiership each year & it is true that you need to lose a few final series before you learn to appreciate what is requried to win them.

The club has come a long way from when they were first promoted in 1992 - and even longer way from when I played against them for Auburn Redlegs in 3rd division back in 1987-88.

Likewise a loss during a footy season isn't always a bad thing - because it wakes up the playing squad that they are not invincible. I reckon that if the same two sides play in the exact same conditions next week, I would have confidence that ECE would win - unfortunately they will not get that opportunity & that will hurt them alot.

Once the pain subsides, I am sure that their 2007 pre-season training will have alot more enthusiasm than if they won yesterday. This may sound funny but sometimes it can be a bad thing for a club to win a premiership - because they rest on their laurels & alot of drive diminishes, together with retirements.

They will learn that "premierships are won in September" but to paraphrase Lleyton Hewitt from earlier this week "you can lose them in April"

Well done to Penno for bouncing back from a few losses in the last few rounds - with their results from the previous two weeks they lifted quite a bit in intensity & deserve the accolades.

HB, you have officially earned the right to crap on to your hearts content for another 12 months. You put your money where your mouth was and no one can ask more than that. I am a supporter of Sydney footy in general as you can probably tell.

I played with Wollongong for the past 2 seasons, but previously played with Wests, Parra & Auburn. Going over to Ireland with the Australian over 35s next month being captain coached by Johnny Platten & will be playing super rules in 2007.
