One of the all-time classic grand finals on one of the all-time worst grand final conditions. When the ground announcer called "game on" during the final quarter, he sure was on the ball. The drama of the last 15 minutes was unbelievable.
Congratulations to Pennant Hills - they're a great club, and came good at just the right time of year. Commiserations to East Coast, they've played some great football this season and were easily the best team all year, but sadly for them history doesn't honour the team with the most wins but the team with the last win.
But what an amazing game it was. Just as much drama in the U18s Challenge game with Balmain getting the winning goal with only a few seconds left on the clock. North Shore were far too good for Penno in the U18s Premier grand final and held the Demons to 2 scoring shots for the day. In reserve grade, East Coast ensured they wouldn't go away empty-handed with a solid win.
A great day of local footy - and one that no-one who was there will ever forget.

Congratulations to Pennant Hills on their win.
The conditions were atrocious, both on the ground and in the sky, and if it was any other weekend during the year the 2, 3P and 3C would have been cancelled and the seniors moved to Monarch.
I find that ironic and it adds to my argument that footy is a winter sport and should be played in all conditions - REGARDLESS OF WHAT SOME WEASEL IN A SUIT AT A NOT THAT IMPORTANT LOCAL COUNCIL MIGHT SAY!
Back to the game and I hope no-one thinks that above comment in any way takes anything away from the Demons, who were absolutely fantastic and thoroughly deserved to win on the day.
You don't have to be dead to be stiff and East Coast are stiff after being undefeated all year and leading by 13 points in the last quarter, but the best team all year got beaten by the best team on the day - as happened in the two previous matches when the minor premier (Penno on both occasions) were beaten by the underdog (Eagles and North Shore).
It was a terrific match in the conditions and an amazing finish with Penno kicking nine (count them, nine) points in a row to turn a seven-point deficit into a two-point victory.
Congratulations to Mick Cousens and his boys on a great performance and commisserations to Rohan Graham and the Eagles, who have still had the best year in the club's history.
Fingers crossed the telecast situation changes and yesterday wasn't my last game in Sydney."It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.
