Are you referring to Wests or Saints players, because if you are talking about Saints players, that is quote of the year.
Maybe you should read more carefully! The Campbelltown AFC have not officially spoken to any players. I have had a number of conversations with players regarding next season and the club will speak to them over the coming weeks. The bottom line is that if players are happy where they are, they will stay?

Saying that while they arent alone, C/town have approached some of our players. Its the nature of the comp and we are used to it.

Two players i believe are going with Hally next year, Ben Kinnaird & Nick Todd, they came down with Hally from Qld last year. Ive spoken to most of our young blokes and like last year we will keep the players we want to retain.

2007 is a long way away and as i have previously posted what i do in 2007 is totally dependant on my employment.

As for me being the reason for coaches leaving, your a deer with no eyes.
Maybe you should open your eyes! A lot of your young players are looking to leave the club and have indicated so. Other clubs are naturally going to approach them if they hear that they are unhappy and leaving, from your comments are we to assume that those players wishing to leave are the ones you do not wish to retain?

As far as you being part of coaches leaving the Crows......all I can say is that there seems to be a pattern!

Gee there is some identities on this site that sure take their Sydney footy seriously! Have C'town approached "Spida" or Tarrant about a possible trade for next season? And i heard Brett Thornton mention a possible switch to Wests in trade talks???

Poor old Hally won't know what colour shorts to put on next year at Balmain. This is his 5th club in 5 years. Balmain obviously looking at another long term coaching prospect! Is there a bus included in the contract so he can transport his players off to a new club in 2008???

And i have heard Kanga Coach has been making friends over at Telstra (coincidently just before the T3 float???) with some rather large phone bills rolling in as he chases blokes at Wests and St George??? I love the line "we have not officially spoken to any players regarding 2007"....do you usually inform a player if you are speaking to the 'officially' or 'unofficially'??? Surely if you have spoken to a player "unofficially" that counts???

And finally, I have not heard from House since old Humphrey Bear successfully predicted what would happen to ECE in the GF??? I guess he is prob doing what HB said "running lap after lap in the heat wondering what went wrong".

So how did that Bear know Humphrey???

First things first Batman, if you're going to make ridiculous statements such as this at least make sure your spelling and grammar is correct before you post. That way at least one thing concerning your comment will be accurate, and it won't be the content i'll give you the tip.

Please advise of the spelling and grammar mistakes you mention Blanket? It appears there is an 'm' missing on the end of 'the' however, the remaining 3 letters, 't', 'h' & 'e' still constitute a complete word according to the English dictionary which effectively makes this a grammar mistake only.....for which i do apologise, but am confident most people got the 'gist' of what i was saying.

Now, it would appear that if you know my comments are all inaccurate then i can only logically conclude that you know the accurate versions??? Please enlighten us all on this site just so there is no further innuendo etc floating around concerning my comments.

And pull your blanket over your head while your at it you bonehead!

Batman, you seem to know a little about very little.

Can you let the forum know who you are or at least what club?

Very easy to cheap shot from behind in the dark

Batman... your information is spot on. I have heard the exact same thing a few times now and even spoken to a player contacted by the boys at Monarch.

Mind you nothing wrong with approaching other players... If I was coach at C'town with no juniors I would do the same thing.

Ash... you are deadset a salted cashew! Why dont you reply to my post of a few months ago asking you to reveal your true allegiance?

And if you say Pennant Hills I have some good natured quiz questions for you to answer?

question for kanga coach.... you did play at st george first and then coached them.... could some one be confused in thinking because you talk to players at other clubs that you are only in fact talking to them to recruit them ......or are those people simply got nothing better to do than talk about mates talking to mates at different clubs???????? i know there is not alot going on in sydney footy right now but this can not be the topic of the month.......

You blokes are missing the point, I have not denied personally talking to players from other clubs, it is part of what I am required to do as a senior coach. Hopefully these conversations bear fruit and the Campbelltown Football Club ie. Football Manager etc... and myself get to sit down and sign the player.

The point being that CAFC may not be aware of all the players I approach and a number of them may never sit down and officially talk to our club, and for the record I have not approached any players this year who have not indicated to myself or a third party that they may be interested in having a chat.

As far as not having any juniors, our U18's made the first final in their division and were narrowly beaten by Wests who narrowly lost the Grand Final. Look out for them over the next few seasons their is plenty of talent coming through the juniors!

I think most people would be aware of the 3 1/2 years I spent at the Crows and I am still mates with most of the players, as I am with most of the players at EastCost. I am not sure why some people are suprised that I would try to recruit players who I think have abilty and have indicated that they are interested, especially if I have coached and played with them previously!

I am not sure why it would concern anyone else where a player would like to go or who talks to him?

I look forward to them bitching about it and me getting on with the job. Gives us something to read.

Unfortunately I am with optus and my phone bill is ok at the moment, but you are right once WE start OFFICIALLY recruiting it may go through the roof.

Is it still poaching if they are wanting to leave? After all if I don't try and get them someone else surely will. I am not sure... but if we can gain an advantage from it I couldn't really care less what it is called.
