    Who has played for the most clubs in Sydney

    I have to tell you that Ellis Noack holds the record for playing for the most number of clubs in Sydney.

    Ellis is still alive and kicking and in his mid sixties.

    He started with Eastern Suburbs (as it was known then) in 1957, then went to St George, then captain coach at Newtown, then a long stint at Southern Districts (formerly a club incorporating Liverpool, Bankstown and Parramatta clubs and playing out of Rosedale Oval) in the sixties. Then he had a year at South Sydney, back to Sthn Districts and finished up playing with his boys at Campbelltown.

    So a total of six clubs and during this time because he was a cop, played 200 odd games for the police team in the mid week services comp. Not a bad effort eh?

    There wouldn't be many instances of father and son playing in the same team - especially at state league level.

      Peter Free AKA chook, Bankstown, Western Suburbs, Campelltown, NSW Uni, South West Sydney, Camden. I guess that equals the record. Theres probably heaps of others to play with mutiple clubs.

        At SFA level Trevor Saunders played with his three sons at South West. Danny, Ray and Shannon.
        Would love to have both Dan and Ray back at the club.

            Borgie lets see, Jets, South West, Parra and Wests, thats only 4 but given he just turned 25 there's plenty of time yet for the record.

              Salem played a few ressies games for Swans in 1993 - til Mil Hanna gave him a touch up in a trial game & damaged his shoulder.

              I have done Ok as well - Auburn, Parra, Wests & the gong (with brief period in between at Cairns City Cobras) - currently on the Aussie over 35 tour & one guy Ben Howard has played for 14 clubs whilst another guy John Macnamara has played for 10! We had a trial match in Singapore last night & amazing seeing the skills of ex-AFL guys like Johnny Platten, Shaun Smith, Ronnie Burns, Troy Bond, Scott Turner, Michael Mitchell & Kevin Caton. Looking forward to the first test against the Irish on Saturday.

                By the names mentioned all are or were pretty handy players.

                Maybe a reason they are approached by so many. Funny to see that some of you who are trying to make a point actually were involved in recruiting these players to your clubs?????

                    Of course this works both ways, the players who change clubs with some regularity are more than likely decent players any club would want, but if they left one club for your club, they're bound to do the same to you when a better looking offer comes along.

                    Then there's always one or two players you wish for whatever reason would be like their more sought after brothers and move on to another club!

                    Ultimately;

                    If people want to stay loyal and remain at one club for their career, then that's cool.

                    If people want to experience other clubs and 'mix it up' by having a career at several clubs, then that's just as cool too.

                    What counts, for everyone, is their performance on and off the field for the club they play for at any given time.
