    Maybe

    Hello All

Now after 3 years out of work Eddie has given me a new contract and I have time to think about Sydney footy again.

I came to this site expecting to see the boastful Baulkham Hills Hawks predicting future glory for the once happy team from Baulko.

Instead I read about the young Kangablues predicting an upsurge and nothing from the wounded birds who migrate in the East. ( The Blues havent spent enough yet to win a premiership. Mind you they dint sign Murphy and Brunton till March so they still might find a premiership coach yet.)

The mute, pantsless Bear started to think.

Is the old footy axiom "you have to lose one to win won" true. Or is it overridden by lifes axiom "once a loser always a loser" or is it "a leopard cant change its spots" the cliche we should live our life by.

The Eagles are on the right track by further demoting that non truth telling "House" but they will stuff it up again. Its just a mater of when.

And all is well in Sydney footy because no matter what happens during the season, we all know come September Baulkham Hills will once again be the butt of all jokes.

I believe that there is a lot of premiership coaches around in March, but most clubs only find one in September.

That should see my job safe for a few more months!

Good to see the Dale Kickett of the SFL last at a club for more than 1 year! Dont know if its just me but KangaCoach seems to be putting a lot of smiley's at the end of his words of wisdom - must be pretty happy with the poaching the club has done. Be interesting to see how he copes with the pressure of early season flag favourites - but he is the supercoach of the comp so im sure he will be fine.......

          ROO/Blue

having watched my roo boys over the last couple of seasons i find it diffuclt to see them change to the Bluebaggers.

All the money they have spent on Withers, Wilson & Moellar, how do they afford new jumpers. (where is the money coming from)

There are the new St.G promiss everything deliver nothing.they don't invest in there young great vision from the blueboys, no wonder Sydney football won't take off!

Expect to see Kanga coach elsewhere next year.

If it doesn't work out Kanga, i gotta spot for ya at Bensons, you can bring all the players with ya as well!!!However,i reckon Ctown will go well this year, despite their obvious team of knockers on the forum(same knockers that bag ECoast?!?)and there could be egg on the anonymous faces of these pages.Shame no-one really identifies themselves on here(i'm one of VERY few)as i'm sure if names were used, the casualty ward would be full on sunday arvos.Just a thought. But good luck to all teams this year, like i said at the awards night a few years back, we're diffderent colours on the paddock but one big happy dysfunctional family off it, so lets get along eh?

Rooboy alot of the recruiting that i have heard that C;town has done involves them bringing players back to the club. Withers, Lees and Moller are all C'town juniors. Obviously Wilsen wasnt happy at St George so decided to go elsewhere.

Any player that doesnt have there deal with a particular club drawn up in a written contract signed by both parties is absolutely crazy. That way any promises made would be backed up by the contract.

Written contacts mean nothing unless you have money to fight it.

You & your club have not learn't from the past. You are paying huge money for what, players who can't play in the wet? Put it into your kids not these rogue's who jump ship for money . Penno have done it. Don't allow others like Hall or kanga coach to be pampered make them work for there 10K a season, develop the area. No club no play get it!

For your sake l hope the drought doesn't break through the 07 season, the $1000/game you spend on Whithers so he can play in sand shoes will be a great investment! Maybe Super coach will develop a sand shoe for the wet and all proceeds will go back to AFL development in the WEST. SURE?????

For the record i do not have a club, i like to follow Sydney footy in general. It just annoys me when idiots like you get on here talking rubbish.

What club are you involved with? Im assuming St George?

Withers on $1000 a game???? Some AFL players wouldnt get that much. I would think it would be more like half that. What has Withers done to you that he deserves the flack you are giving him?

I agree with you Withers is the best CHF in the comp no-doubt.

What l find hard is that sides like the blues & dockers don't learn.

They burn the kids who play for years to build the club & give nothing back into the locals or supporters. The blues will have success but at what price? Last year they did it on a shoe string budget and nearly got to the finals. the same individuals only want the glory today they have no vision!
How long will it last throwing this money around? 1 or 2 seasons?
Have we seen this before? Yes didn't they go to Canberra & back again? Yes! Why no vision!

Here are some facts from the idiot? 1st year AFL daftee receives 70-100k/year, A 15 or 16 year AFL scholaship player recieves upwards to $700/week.

Kanga coach is on 10k + per season, Hall as a coach is on 7/k if they make the finals 5K bonus + win the GF 5K bonus total 17K!!!! + $250/game as a player. (wouldn't give you two bob for him)
Moellar is $600/game, Withers is on $1000/game + bonus, Wilsen is on $300/game

Kinnard is $1200/game, Thatcher $400/game. I could go on but the idiot has a headache.

West were paying him $800/game last season.

We live in Sydney, disgruntled or not would you live for less money. No! Withers did the best deal for him don't have a problem with that, he is entitled to it.

The club must come first. No club, no-one plays it is that simple.
Geez you sound like Kanga Coach?Previous positive connection please! How will JW travel to training 3 nights aweek from the inner city????

Obviously Withers has become fed up at We$ts - in Sydney football I am firmly of the opinion that players very rarely leave a club if they are happy

As far as I can see the Blues' policy revolves around bringing ex-players (assume they became disgruntled) back into the fold along with talented youngsters that the coaching staff have had a previous connection with (obviously a positive one).

To me this is a logical and valid strategy - quite clearly the club has gotten their act together off the field as well and I wish them all the best for this season.

"rooboy", so that you are not considered a troll can you reveal how you come to that $1,000 per week number?

All this talk about ridiculous sums of money to Sydney players is just that, ridiculous. In fact these sums make me laugh because we all know Wests and ECE paid players plenty last year and came up with ducks eggs. But who did win Premier Division? That's right, Penno. Save for Wollongong, probably the least cashed up side in the comp!! They did it with a side stacked of juniors and still got the chocolates. Save for Laino and Maxi i suspect all were on the basic player payment. So have you imbeciles from other clubs got the picture yet? Invest in your kids and success will come.
