FACT - they have "recruited" three players who were theirs anyway and one player who he coached before. I don't consider this poaching at all and can't see how you do.

Are you able to clarify your history with Kanga as you obviously have a lot of bad blood there......

FYI, The third point regards Withers. I know for a fact he agreed to play with Wests this year. He got up and spoke at B&F night and said how much he loved the club and how we all had to stick together. He should have prefaced his comments by saying we should all stick together unless we can get over $200 a game more at another club. Of course it's a family decision just like Lote Tuquiri will make a decision in consultation with his family regarding his playing future. After he signs for the most money he is of course going to say " I spoke to the family and decided it was in the best interest for my football to go to (Insert Highest Bidder) Club.

Perhaps my friends you should look in-house as to why he left - I would say that perhaps he felt the culture there was not to his liking and in particular that having to play under the coaching of the biggest ego in Sydney football (an ego with no right to be that big btw) was no longer enjoyable. Do you really think he could have said the truth at B&F Night - "I didn't really enjoy my footy this year and I think that now is the best time to announce I will be returning to my home club"?

Your club seems to have had quite an exodus this year - how about concentrating on your own back yard. If you are not careful your joint will disintegrate in in-fighting this year - he has form!

When the well ran dry and the money ran out, all of the clubs ended up at the bottom within a couple of years and their players were dispersed around the league looking for an earn.

The only exception was when Campbeltown managed to keep the payments up for a couple of years under Bird . When the money ran out so did the players.

Parra sent themselves broke and back to the SFA and the other 3 all have @@@@ cultures and reappear in the finals every now and then after a spending spree.

Long term none of them will ever be any good.

I can't work it out either. Some old feud that pre-dates their involvement on this board. It certainly keeps the hits coming in, on our very own controversy corner......

But a lot of the issues discussed is making mountains out of molehills.
It's not like we've got some English Premier League type setup where a couple of cashed-up clubs will always dominate and there is no hope of any other club ever doing anythng other than making up the numbers.
If the coach of a club that hasn't made the finals for 3 years, and has struggled to be competitive for much of that time, approaches a few former players to return and brings a few mates down to help him rebuild the club, I don't see what the problem is.
I'm not involved with Campbelltown, but after they'd been a powerhouse club and then falling on hard times, it's a positive sign for the game that they seem to be on the way back. As to how their recruiting will translate into on-field success, that'll be interesting to see as the season unfolds.

I think most sane people would agree with your comments. I am not sure who rooboy is but it would be obvious to even the slowest of us that this is a very personal issue. It goes way beyond a nose out of joint for losing a few players, after all we have recruited 2 players who played in the Sydney AFL last season, Withers who came from us and Ed Wilson who I had recruited and coached at the Crows.

For those of you new to this forum there is a good reason that I have made it known who I am. As you can see it allows idiots to take pot shots but it also allows any gunuinely interested followers of the game to get accurate info as well as the truth behind any rumours or heresay involving me or the the Campbelltown AFC.

My recruiting strategy is fairly simple, get any players formerly from the club back, talk to players you have previously coached who may be unhappy where they are. Never turn down a player from another club who is interested in having a chat.

I can guess the identity of rooboy and look forward to answering any questions that my new found friend has raised regarding the clubs I have been fortunate enough to be involved with.

At the end of the day a coach is measured by his on field success and his ability to develop players (Younger or older). Like all coaches I look forward to being measured throughout the season and my mark at the end.

I agree with Kanga Coach. The only problem is we have a real tall poppy syndrome in the SAFL or in particular on this forum. Everytime a club tries to better itself, ECE last year, C'Town this year it seems their is Humphry or rooboy ready to take cheap shots. In regards to team performance, if you are not getting success you have to make changes, simple as that. It would be negligent as coach of C'Town for Kanga Coach not to explore all opportunities, even though I reckon he paid a stack for Withers. At the end of the day if it helps win a premiership it will have been worth it. A quick question for Kanga Coach, Is their any chance of seeing you and rooboy on the Mundine undercard on Wednesday night?
                            Give it a wash!

In amongst Rooboy's diatribe directed at KangaCoach/Garns, he levelled the fairly serious allegation against him, above, to which KC hasn't responded (despite addressing all other attacks).

I'd hope that someone who works for the NSWAFL didn't use his position to obtain private phone numbers of registered players to forward his own cause. Surely there's some serious privacy considerations there.

Fortunately for Garns, though, Rooboy's verbal barrages have severely undermined his credibility.
