Sydney AFL To Be Televised in 2007

AFL & Foxtel partner to support community clubs in Greater Sydney

This is sensational news. A one-hour magazine-type program on Wednesday evenings, and the weekly match of the round on Saturday mornings; both on Aurora (ch 183).
Even though Fox Footy is no more, it's great news that TV coverage of Sydney AFL continues. Well done to everyone involved in making this deal happen.

Better coverage than ever for those of us outside of NSW who want to catch up on the most interesting soap opera in town!

        Great Man to host

Their is a rumour floating around that R&W onlines own Rooboy is going to host the show. The hard hitting, opioninated and fact finding guru of the SFL will be the main man. It would be advised to the shows producers to have Pekay and Garns as his co-hosts
        Give it a wash!

          yes thats correct Bryan.

Unfortuntely Garns & Pekay can't be on as they both have a conflict of interests.

Garns is working hard on a job with Bing Lee as the telephone list consultant (l think he will get knocked back because of privacy/laws & concerns.)

Also Pekays opinion of himself is so great that he went on Big Footy thread to nominate himself as the country coach of the century. He was quoted when ask to give some facts with " I've coached a undefeated team to a grand final in the Sydney AFL" he gave Norris, young kanga & garns as references.

Dont get stroppy Roo,it was "coaches you've played under" or something similar,i can hardly put myself against coaches that have played in other (much higher)comps can i? i wldve put down the fact that it was Div 2, i wont shy away from that,i'm proud of the fact that i coached a flag at age 25 dont matter what Division or area i did it in. As for this job, i'll take it!! Garns, we'll alternate between Monarch and Bensons week to week, BMR has been consulted(he's my manager)and more than happy to add his bit, and we'll have old mate Dingus McGee (Rooboy) as our very own Trev Marmalade. Confirmed viewers already include anyone wishing to find out who Rooboy really is, and Rooboy's mates, all 1 of them. (family dont count)

              --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll blow my trumpet, no-one else will. I led my Nor-West Jets to an undefeated flag in 2006 at 25.Now we're moving up to Division 1, i'll coach again, making me the youngest current coach in Sydney Seniors. But others on this thread have me covered--------Is this what you mean Rooboy?? Still searching for "Best Coach in the Country" thread you were talking about. Tell me, do you get custom made nappies to fit your chin, or does the raw bile just flow down your chest?? Yeah it sounds like i'm up myself, but you do the same job i have done over the past two years, and come and see me then, or shall i read it under "Why i choose to sit on the fence, be an anonymous tool and put down all and sundry" thread on BigFooty? This thread is full of hard workers who arent in it for the accolades, or the cash, they post on here to keep those who are interested up-to-date on their respective clubs or friends at different clubs. And yes, i'm very proud of being the youngest coach in Sydney Seniors, its a product of growing up in this town and going thru the various development groups. PROUD AS PUNCH

I understand AFLNSW don't score a $ in cash out of this and they are giving up naming of both Seniors and Juniors, plus by the looks of it mailing lists of both organisations, plus 8am on Satdy I wonder a little whether the value is there (particularly compared to last years arrangement). But I think Foxtel are bankrolling production, BeeEmAre might be able to confirm that one.

In all seriousness well done on your achievement. You have your heart for football in the right place. Extend your self as a coach. I know you are a better coach than most in the state comp.

Hey Rooboy are you a current player?

My bet is that you are from St George, probably 25+ yrs of age.

I reckon everyone on here knows who I am anyway... But let's play a little game of guess who then....

                            I am...

                            Overweight
                            Slow
                            Unaccountable
                            Massive Head
                            Egotistical
                            Lazy
and I am not Peter Kefalas... and no I am not Luffy.
                            I am from Canberra...
and my name rhymes with pee

So who are you rooboy? St George boy? Disgruntled with Garns, angry at Ash...
