Hasnt been a thread started on this, so a month to go, i'll have a go. This Saturday 17th from 2pm at Kelso Oval, Nor-West and South-West will play a friendly trial between each other for 2 qtrs. The coaches, myself and Tara will then combine our lists, make a strong team and take on the National RAAF Squad, the finest players the Air Force has to offer. This will shape as the best trial the Jets have played since ADFA a few years ago(incidentally, RAAF beat ADFA on the weekend by a fair margin)all are welcome to come down and watch this game, this is final selection for the RAAF team before the RAAF-ARMY-NAVY take each other on to pick the ADF team to play on Anzac Day at the SCG, vs Emergency Services. Both coaches are quite excited to get the opportunity to take on these blokes, it should be a good game.On behalf of Tara,Pekay.

Thanks to the RAAF and Pekays boys for a great day.
The hit out gave us at SWS and opportunity to see how we could compete and how our new blokes would perform.
One great pick upfor us was thanks to this site.
Ol Robbo (my age) and I met at the forum game between Talking Carlton and RWO last September and by chance we got talking again just prior to preseason when he indicated he'd like to have a year before he was too old(36 now).
He hasnt missed a beat at our sessions and despite being 5ft nothing and not playing for over 10 years showed his worth today. New name has to be Nugget. Never stopped running, contesting and put alot of the young blokes to shame and as Pekay can eloborate in Pain. Most guys on the field including the very injured(a/c) party concerned reckon it was the cleanest and best hit any had seen for some time, only just better than the one he laid about 2 seconds later.
Also should mention a thanks to all the supporters there and the Campbelltown recruiting staff who were on hand to try and poach anyone with talent - sorry guys we have em all signed.
PS Garns Tounge firmly in cheek.
Great to see you at home with us today Chook and if you get some free time feel free (hehe) to put your boots on and have a run with us. -
Great to hear that the day went well and you have everyone signed up and onboard....don't worry mate we aren't out to recruit anyone at this stage of the year...but it certainly doesn't hurt to keep an eye an out.On The TrailComment

The club has suspended I_Heart_Kefalas indefinitely due to a number of off-field indiscretions, so he won't be able to comment on the game. We hope he sorts himself out in time for the season opener and trust that this latest stint in rehab will see him primed for Rd1.
The game was played over 6 sixths with both sides fielding a 2s side for the first 1/2 and a stronger side for the 2nd half. Although I'm not sure of the final score, I believe that the Bulldogs won both halves fairly easily. The 2nd half was somewhat closer than the 1st.
Both sides missing a few. I doubt that I_Heart has computer access in rehab, as online p0rn was just one of his many addictions being treated, but he will be pleased to know that his namesake was amongst the best.Comment

Monty was spot on with his report, both sides look good in parts but mostly shaking away cobwebs and getting a run in was the order of the day.I think round 1 win show two very different sides to that on the weekend...Comment

Also I think the under-18s gradings started over the weekend. Any word on how they went?
