    All quiet on RWO ??

Has all of Sydney footy gone for break before the season start ?

I have counted only 10 posts since March 20.
For all his ridiculous ideas and big mouth, maybe Rooboy's suspension should be lifted ? At least it kept some interest in Sydney footy albeit mostly crap.

Parra have recurited so well that if rumors are to believed they will be fielding a side in second div this year as well as 1st div. A good turn around for the boys at Gipps.

I'm really bored Woodsy, so I'll help your cause. Based on the clearances on the Sydneyafl site, here are the #'s in & out of each club (obviously excludes retirements and players coming back to the same club after a layoff) ...

      (Players In/Players Out)

      BALMAIN DOCKERS (16 / 3)
      CAMPBELLTOWN BLUES (13 / 4)
      EAST COAST EAGLES ( 1 / 3)
      NORTH SHORE (25 / 3)
      PENNANT HILLS (10 / 9)
      ST GEORGE ( - / 7)
      SYDNEY UNIVERSITY (29 / 5)
      UNI OF NSW/EASTERN SUBURBS (1 / 2)
      WESTERN SUBURBS (- / 3)
      WOLLONGONG (33 / -)

      HOLROYD-PARRAMATTA GOANNAS (29 / -)
      MACQUARIE UNIVERSITY (19 / -)
      MANLY-WARRINGAH (16 / 5)
      NOR-WEST JETS (10 / -)
      PENRITH (3 / 2)
      SOUTHERN SHARKS (52 / 3)
      UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (7 / 3)

      SOUTH-WEST SYDNEY (- / 4)
      ST CLAIR CROWS (- / 10)

      - Southern Sharks with 52 registrations - thats almost 3 new teams - I know there are 6 from St.George but where'd the rest come from ? Any quality in there ?

      - No new registrations as yet for ECE, ST.GEO, WS or UNSW - last minute administration stuff or hands being held close to the chest ?

      - 10 New Registrations for Norwest - Pekay, will this be enough to keep you fielding 2 competitive teams week in, week out ?

      - Only 10 St.Clair players have moved on to other clubs. Assuming that the club had 30 players, thats 20 participants that have been lost to Sydney footy due to the league's decision.

Unless I'm looking at the wrong place, those clearances were up to date as at 1 March. http://www.sydneyafl.com.au/?s=genericnewslist&kw=57

I would fully expect that North Shore must be close to having a thirds as well with the two U18 teams so this comp could feasibly have 14 - 16 teams before too long.
UNSW-ES fielded 2 teams in that comp as well last year. Unless they've got some struggle for numbers this season that I haven't heard about, there's no reason why they wouldn't be doing that again. So there's 2 more Div 2 teams.

Norris I ran water for the Jets last week in their trial against UNSW-ES and their doesnt appear to be any problem with numbers for them. Pretty certain they will be fielding two sides with ease.

Actually it completely vindicates our stance, as a traditionally strong club with a great history like Parramatta has gone from forfeiting reserve grade games to being able to field three sides.

Its refreshing & really nice to be wanted again.

I do but it doesnt prevent me running. For the record I have 2 disks in my lower back stuffed but nothing too serious. Thre real damage is C4,c5 and c6 in my neck which are all bulging, c5 also has a tear and an impingement on the nerve which causes my left arm to go numb (alot) and cramp from time to time. My spinal cord thru my neck has flattened due to the pressure on it.

So essentially I take a risk if I play sports that could involve head or neck injuries.

The reason that Parramatta are on the apparent rise would be due, I would say, to better administration. The extra St Clair players would be an added bonus but ask those players if they are happy about their club being killed due to self-interested other club and I think you would get a two word answer.

For you to claim credit due to your party in that grubby little episode of killing off St Clair is drawing a rather long bow by any stretch of the imagination.

No I'm not joking, I'm sure there are many reasons for Parramatta having improved it's numbers, and the introduction of the St.Clair players would only be one of them. I'm sure that the influx of a number of St.Clair players is also very helpful to Nor-West in them having two teams up and running. To my mind this is a benficial result for Sydney football, if I'm the only one who holds this view then so be it.

You're still suggesting that the demise of the senior arm at St.Clair (bearing in mind that 95% of that club couldn't care less if they had a senior side or not)is somehow Penrith's fault which is an interesting assertion to keep making given that in your words "we couldn't run a chook raffle".

I had no idea we had such an effect on the decision making of the League.
