Can someone please explain to me the use of the match ratio and why it was introduced?

I understand how the ratio is decided for win-loss. If you have won 6 from 15 you have a MR of 40%. But what if you have a draw in there????? What is 6 wins, 9 losses and a draw???
Even though all first grade games are made up at present the MR system is necessary if some late games get washed out and only part of the round too.
Reserves and 18s are no certain of being made up either.Comment

With a very tight battle for key ladder positions where points and percentage are all-important, I wouldn't think it would be too hard to work out.

So if 10 games played and you have had 4 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses, your match ratio is 45.00.
Match ratio is the fairest way of establishing ladder positions for competitions with uneven games, uneven byes, partial washout rounds etc as is the case in Sydney junior AFL the past few seasons.Comment
