What's the best game you've seen/played in so far?

Enough of the sniping and negativity of some other threads - time for a positive thread. We all love our footy, and we've all seen and/or played in quite a few games this season. What would you rank as the best games you've seen/played in so far this year?

I saw a cracker of a game at Gore Hill yesterday. Wests, with their season on the line, threw everything at North Shore and when Salem Kassem goaled from a scramble on the goal-line, the Magpies were in front. But deep in time-on, a strong mark and goal to Todd Bajcic and some good finishing from Simon Davies got North Shore the points.
I can think of a couple of other really good games I've seen - one where Campbelltown came from no-where under lights at Henson to snatch a draw in the last couple of seconds; and another at the Village Green when North Shore came from behind to hit the lead late against UNSW-ES before Leigh Lavery kicked 3 in time-on to give the Bulldogs the game. The last-quarter fightback in the rep game in Canberra was also memorable, and with a bit of luck Sydney could have stolen that game.
But the one I think's the best I've seen this season was at Wagener, when Wests got a great start against East Coast, then the Eagles turned on their power in the second quarter and looked like running away before Wests steadied. The second half was goal for goal, but Wests were able to hang on and take the game.

What about the rest of you? What are some games you've enjoyed watching or playing in this season?

Good to see King Kev snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yet again - no-one does it quite as well as him

I'd hardly call it snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I thought it was a team with nowhere near the playing strength of their opposition taking the fight up to them.

Whichever way you look at it, We$ts are a massive disappointment this year and whichever way he spins it to blokes like you the buck must stop with "Big Kev" given the "cultural overhaul" he implemented a few years ago along with his fistful of pokie dollars.

Well, down the track the ressies and U-18s are in a parlous state and the ones, barely propped up by his favourites, are 7th in the weakest SFL in recent years.

Surely some changes are in the wind......

I haven't seen any quality matches this year to even mention one ... but my all-time favourite match was Parra v Wests 1991 preliminary final at Campbelltown - a relatively high scoring encounter with some cracking goals by both sides - Chris Masterton played a blinder for Wests whilst Darren "Keg" Foster booted his ton for the season. A very young & raw Greg Stafford played one of his last matches for Wests before going to AFL. Sadly the worst game that I saw was the following week with the disgrace that occurred.

Another great moment was the NSW v Vic State of Origin match in the wet in the SCG in 1990 - Goannas played Sydney Uni in curtain raiser that night. King Carey & Longmire played out of their skins that night as did big J Longmire.

Best match that I saw Wollongong play was when they beat the then undefeated ECE at north Dalton in one of the early rounds of 2005 - sadly I don't think they have ever reached the same standard since.

Best game that I saw Wests play was major semi final against Pennant Hills in 1996 - played close to their perfect game with a win by 88 points - a few weeks later in the decider they only got up by 10 after being down during the last quarter.
See me run a marathon again as a leprechaun?

Can't believe you were not coaching

Surely the greatest coach ever (GcE) was coaching the team.

Did you ask Johnny to submit your name?

Neck up parrot, haven't you lot down at Olds got work to do, with playing ineligible players and generally spouting off verbal diatribe? Seriously though eyes on the blackboard and pay attention to your teacher, coz Footy wont pay your bills. At least your grammar has improved marginally.Have you tried ComputerTutor yet?
