    Season already over?

    Seems strange that the season is officially over this Saturday afternoon for both Penrith & Nor-West Jets ... season seems very short as we are only just into August ... should there have been a few more wet weather weekends or rep games scheduled for first division this year?

    Pekay & DLH, it may have been a long season, but I am sure that ye wouldn't be happy to end a winter sport season on 11 August
    See me run a marathon again as a leprechaun?

      It does seem a little strange Rafters, but there is two rounds to go and both teams have a bye in the last round.
      We only had one washout during the season, which was the last time we were scheduled to meet each other in round 9.
      Both clubs have three byes, so have only 14 games from 17 rounds (13 after the washout). Perhaps there could have been the extra four matches scheduled to make it three full rounds.

      However, it should be a cracking day at Greygums this weekend, with both teams in their last game for the season. The loser will get the wooden spoon in both grades and the winner the obvious bragging rights of topping the arch rival next door neighbours. If anyone doesn't have commitments with your home club, I'd say get out there.




      Especially if you want to back the boys in blue and white.

          why not have a friendly well not so friendly match to finish the year when everyone else ahs last game... have a fundraiser towards next season surely both clubs can think of something..

              Originally we were scheduled to play Rams on the last round,but due to a wedding of one of our life members on that day,we spoke with Penrith and decided to move game a week forward.we'll lose at least a dozen to this wedding,and most others will have planned something for that day by now i'd say.But i'd personally love to play Riff 2 wks in a row!Very disappointing to have such a short season Rafters,just means a complete league overhaul should be closer to reality.1st Div cant go any further backwards.

                  maybe if these jets / penrith players want a game they should ring the dockers ..my tafe collegue from the saints informed me of the dockers ressies forfeit today ...what a joke !!
