I think you have your wires crossed Edge. I have no issue's with social functions and I would expect that the senior coach should attend all of the clubs functions. Your point regarding only the great clubs contending the finals having social functions is interesting. I would suggest that one of the reasons those clubs are competing in the finals is because they wouldn't be stupid enough to have players on the grog at a function in the days leading up to a game. Sure have a function during the week, it's great, I don't think it's great preparation for players to be allowed to get full in the days leading up to a match.

Do you really believe most players don't drink on Fridays because they have a match on Sunday? Maybe I'm wrong and getting too old.

Thanks Chaz for confirming what a peanut you are. The old Sydney Footy chesnut. That is why the standard is so terrible for a state league. Sydney people not wanting to change because it's Sydney footy. Do you think Garns runs C'Town like a Sydney footy side. No way. Just because everyone wants a crutch to lean on, an excuse. I'll look after my own club but don't you dare bag it for trying to lift the standard (and culture) of the competition. I happy to give you tips however if you want any.Give it a wash!Comment

Your mob might be better off if they have a drink on a Friday night because winning 1 final in 15 years isnt lifting the standard (and culture) of the competition.
Keep talking up your perpetual bunch of failures and you might even convince yourselves that you have had success.Comment

C'mon Humphrey,
I think we are a little over you bagging ECE at every opportunity and claiming they pump themselves up. I hope your son gets a game this week, I am sure their are a few boys down at the nest that will be glad to see him on the field. Keep you eye on the ball(s)!Give it a wash!Comment

HUMP,
Noticed in the sat paper that a macadamia farm is for sale up north.
What an opportunity for the great club & more importantly the players too make a bob or two. You would all raise the culture up there.
If you didnt use words such as " raising the standard and culture of the competition" I wouldnt have to constantly remind you that you havent raised anything.
