does anyone honestly think the punishment was fair, giving we didnt even get a kick when Livy knocked out coley ????????
So there was a ckeap shot from Livy??I thought i saw a sly one get thrown when Cloes was on ground. Ah well, thats footy, they always see the retaliation dont they? Was a bloody entertaining game though i reckon, didnt realise how close it was til 3 qtrr time. Still, one thing i did notice on TV was the lack of extra footys behind the goal(for quick kick ins)Wouldve thought that at least one spare was sitting down each end(perhaps there was,all i saw on Tv was fullback waiting for young fella to retrieve the ball for him. I know we dont play AFL,far from it, but just thought there would've be a use(even a demand) for extra footys.

he belted Livy becuase Livy belted Coley. He was looking after his mate.

The problem is as I pointed out the umps were blindsided and didnt see it. What the umps did see/hear were the Saints players going off and screaming at them. Umps never respond well to having their decisions questioned. Lowry may well have looked after his mate but he let his other 20 mates down. Hitting a bloke right infront of the ump isnt real bright - If your going to square up dont get caught becuase leaving you team a man down for the rest of the game doesnt help. After that incident you guys received very little favour from the umps and Norths were almont a protected species at times.

The punishment was spot on - Was it fair that Livy got away with it - No but two wrongs dont make a right.

A question for you Croweater - What would you have preferred? Dans actual response or would you have rathered he stuck it up them by his actions with the football and win a premership.

Both Livy and Cole give regular cheap shots. I've seen Cole give them on many occasions.

Have any suspensions come of this?

Other than these incidents was the North Shore bloke cited for kicking the shin(deliberate trip) against the young bloke from St George which saw the kid leave the ground and yet again more inaction by the umpires?

Been offline the last couple of days, my internet connection at home's been playing up and I can only have a quick look at work when no-one's looking. Hopefully by the time I get home from work tonight it will have fixed itself. *crosses fingers*

But looking at the replay last night, the umpires were clearly playing the "third man in" rule - that if two players are having a go at each other you let them go, but the next player in is the one who gets pinged. Unfortunately for Lowry, he was the third man in and his hit was very effective - he was always going to get sent off for that.
It's an unfortunate finish to the season for Lowry, who had a great first half of the season - and until that incident with The Rooster in the Campbelltown game had got himself into the rep squad.

I don't know if anyone's been cited or would get suspended - or maybe being sent off in a grand final is punishment enough.

The umpires were nowhere near up to it after being ok in the other games in previous weeks.Pointing the wrong way regularly and giving bewildering frees that were blatantly wrong. This was clearly shown on the replays. Same olds, same olds, doesn't work. Kalayzich was umpire of the year and didn't do the GF??!! Then again, how old is he?With all due respect where are the young one's? They have huge problems. How does this lot compare to other states? I reckon light years behind. What about the 18s exhibition?? Penno were off their tree in anger.Sorry to SPOIL the illusion.Glassjaw and Ogtown need to turn it around very quickly or...................................

Spoiler I cant comment on the previous games as I was working and only just arrived in time for the first grade game. I agree though the umpiring was of a very poor standard - the number of times they missed the obvious only to pay the second one only inflamed St G even more. That being said we should all be used to piss poor umpiring in Sydney by now.

Glassford has to take the blame for the disgraceful bias in both grades on the weekend.

Little Manuel from Fawlty Towers in the ressies is acknowledged as the worst umpire of any grade, yet got a GF gig?? Penno were rorted and he alone cost them at least 3 goals.

As for the senior game i left at half time but in that time but Norths got at least 4 goals from direct free kicks that had to be made up. The one's against Shineberg in the first minute and Raper in the second quarter were diabolical.

Lessels got the gig because he works for the league, it cant be his friendly on field nature. As the Spoiler said, the best umpire in the league was doing Ressies.

Yeah your exactly right there Booza. What comes around goes around and Coley is definately partial to lifting up the old chicken wing, especially at young blokes. As for poor old Lowry and it being a bit harsh getting sent off, You live by the sword , you die by the sword. The bloke wasnt retaliating earlier in the year before a ball had even been bounced when he teed off on Rooster and only got a couple of weeks. I say sucked in he not only cost himself but his team mates as well so i hope they all enjoyed his great nature last monday drinking their sorrows away.
The edge is not the limit, It's just the starting point...

how can you say the punishment was spot on ???
If it had have been anyone else other than coley would they have been sent off ?? if it had have been gadget or declan ??? i dont think so

And i heard we are the only leauge that can send players off. is this true ?

Dan didnt let anybody down, as usual the umpiring did AGAIN

As to your question, what happened happened NO REGRETS. It wouldnt have changed the result. Livy couldnt kick straight after it he missed from ten out.
he did nothing for the rest of the game

He will have a premiership for the rest of his life, but atleast he will have a worse head than he already had to go with it

so what was the punishment...??? been mentioned on here before missing rest of the game and maybe being the difference to the final result is punishment enough ..... but what needs to be asked is where is the common sense.. i couldnt care less what happens happens and move on.
but i know that most leagues now kicking players out that reach a set limit for total weeks recieved. and in 2 years has recieved 11 weeks.??? 7 against campbelltown.. but it is a contact sport but no one needs to have their nose put to other side of their head or jaw broken....

Croweater I was refering to the punishment Lowry copped. Re read what I said - the umps were blindsided and missed the cheap shots Coley copped. If you dont see it how can you penalise it?

there are three of those idiots running around out there....not to mention the emergencies
we all saw it out on the ground
and from wat i heard, fair few saw it from the grandstands

i dont think anyone should be sent for the entire game for one cheap shot

do you not agree that it wouldve been a different punishment if it had have been someone else other than dan lowry ?????
