    player movement??

With the season done and dusted just wondering if there are any players calling it quits and if there are any players changing colors.. only brought it up because of the rumor mill has started and i am not going to be DOCKING anywhere else next year. But also heard of a few other rumors which i hope are not true.

There's always rumours; but Sydney AFL clubs are notorious for playing their cards close to their chest & not making announcements early. I remember Wests copping some @@@@ on here (I thought a bit harshly) when they announced the Jason McPherson signing; which may have put some clubs off making announcements.
Which is unfortunate, because announcing the signing of players should be good publicity for clubs. The Jason McPherson signing was 4 years ago, maybe another club will take the plunge this year.

I doubt there'll be many movements on the coaching merry-go-round. The top 4 coaches would all have the jobs next year if they want them. Damian Hall's already been re-appointed at Balmain, and I can't see why Sydney Uni wouldn't re-sign Daniel Archer. And I can't see any reason why Rohan Graham & Matthew Nicks wouldn't be re-appointed.
I see Wests & Wollongong have advertised for coaches. I don't know if Kevin Eynaud has applied for either or both; but he loves his footy and I'd like to see him coaching somewhere next year. Don't know about Wollongong - it depends who applies for that one, but they've got a great facility down there now and Wollongong would be an attractive club for potential recruits.

East Coast, Pennant Hills, Western Suburbs and Wollongong are the four Premier League clubs advertising for a coach at the moment.
Nor-West Jets, Southern Sharks and Holroyd-Parramatta in first division.
      South-West Sydney in second division.

There are plenty of good jobs on offer.

I had heard that six Premier Division clubs were needing coaches for next year. I guess most clubs at least go through the process before making reappointments, I know Penrith are looking for a coach as well.

Looking at the ads on the NSW AFL website, I noticed that Pennant Hills are advertising for First Division coaches for next season as well which is very interesting. Anything that boosts the numbers participating in that competition is welcome.

Too right DLH, the more teams the merrier in 1st Div.Penno coming up a grade will be very interesting.I think all Premier teams with more than 2 grades-ie UNSW and Syd Uni-should put those teams in 1st Div,so maybe next yr we'll see an 11 team comp,Manly Sharks UTS Parra Mac Uni Jets Rams, with the inclusion of Penno,Dogs & Whales and Blues & Reds plus SWS from Div 2,makes the comp more feasible.still a bye there, but there is still Camden in the equation.Looks much better to all & sundry.

Unlikely at present - we will not return until we can be sure of fielding two full sides each weekend.

I see that Rosedale Oval is closed due to the Horse Flu for the start of the cricket season given its close proximity to Warwick Farm. Do ye train there over the pre-season Tara?

I heard through the grapevine that Rohan Graham is gooooone. Did he quit or get the sack? Is he taking the other 13 coaches with him?

Oscar, is there any truth to this rumour?

Jarrod Crosby & Matty Parker retire every year. I'd be surprised if we don't see them back at some stage next season.

Penno advertise their coach every year, but Mick Cousens would probably be re-appointed if he wants the gig again. One flag and one minor premiership from 2 years in the job is a good run of success - he'd be unlucky to miss out.
Penno fielding a First Division team would make sense - they won Second Division, and they've got good numbers up there.
If Sydney Uni are going to field 5 grades again, it would make more sense for them to field seniors & reserves in First Division and one Second Division team rather than all 3 in Seconds. The last side only came into being at the last minute so it wasn't an option this year, but it would be a logical step for 2008.

We are starting preseason on Thur 22nd Nov at Kelso and then every Wednesday after that until Christmas. Sundays will be a variety of locations around Sydney.

We find it very hard to train at Rosedale during the summer months as the cricketers are a bit precious with the ground. Fair enough though given the money they spend on it. They dont allow us to wear boots and blokes slip and slide everywhere with runners so getting on Kelso this year is a real bonus.

SWS is a great club and I can only recommend them to anybody who is looking for a game in 2008

They took the time to come down and train Bankstown juniors this year

Their efforts in helping out this year is greatly appreciated.

For the Bankstown 16's who are now finished junior footy, we hope.
the continue at either St George , Sharks or South West Sydney

Kelso is one of the best ovals in sydney and we welcome the SWS lads
