The draws for every grade are up on the Sydney AFL website - well done to the Sydney AFL for getting them all out before Christmas.

The season starts on 5th April at Henson Park with the ultimate football marathon - 5 senior games back to back. Sydney Uni v Balmain at 9am, Wests v Wollongong at 11:40am, Pennant Hills v Campbelltown at 2:20pm, UNSW-ES v East Coast at 5pm and St George v North Shore at 7:40pm.
There's 2 rep games - one away against the Black Diamond league, and one at Henson against the VAFA.
At the end of the season, we have a final 5, with the grand final on Saturday 20th September.

Camden return to First Division, eliminating the bye. Byes are also eliminated in the under-18s comps, with St Ignatius promoted to Premier Cup and South-West Sydney fielding a team in Challenge Cup in 2008.

wat does everythin think about the first round approach to scheduling.....
i cant complain cause weve drawn the 2pm game......but i know speaking to mates from other clubs that playing at different times throws them around abit in terms of preparations...

just thought id ask every1 point of view?

one thing for certain henson will be a busy and somewhat chaotic venue that day..with 10 1st grade teams passing through!!

It's good to see a bit of innovation to put on 5 games of senior footy at the one location, starting at 9am.

It's also good that all grades have their fixtures available before Christmas.

More night games in Premier and First Div is another improvement.

It'll be particularly a challenge for Balmain and Sydney Uni, playing the 9am match. Established senior players wouldn't have started that early since their junior days, but that's a new challenge for them.
But changes in starting time happen weekly in every division, and will become even more so in future with more twilight and night football being played. Players will have to learn to adapt.

I think the 5-header opening day looks like a great concept. Hopefully the weather will be decent - if it is, there'll be a huge number of people coming in at some stage of the day.
Anzac Day at Drummoyne's another good innovation. And it's interesting to see Picken Oval hosting senior football again, for the first time since well before my time.

Congratulations to the Sydney AFL on a great and innovative draw.
The quintuple header is something you need a lot of forward thinking to come up with and a lot of foresight to make it work.
It will work, it just needs to be promoted correctly and through all significant media - getting it into the Daily Telegraph would be a good start.
It will be a big day to launch Bruce Purser Oval in round two, Anzac Day is another winner and the Top Five was absolutely necessary for this competition to be taken seriously by outsiders.
Well done Sydney AFL, lets see more of it.

Whoever gets it should make plenty - with every Premier Division club coming through at some stage of the day, the aggregate attendance over the course of the day should be the biggest outside the grand final.
As BeeEmmAre mentioned, some good publicity will help promote it. The Daily Telegraph would be good, and if the Swans could be talked into putting something up on the scoreboard at the Swans v Port game at the SCG the week before; it would be a good opportunity to inform Swans fans about the local competition.
