Balmain by 10 points - Now or never, Dockers.
UNSWES by 75 points - far too good.
St George by 60 points - won't lose at home.
East Coast by 22 points - Penno is the best I've seen so far, but they will need to be amazing to win given their list of absentees. What do you think of this: Seb Parker, Daniel De Looze, Charlie Richardson, Justin Barratt, Damian Dell'aquila, Clint Setford, Ranga Ediriwickrama, John Moraitis, Sam Widmer, Josh Duncan, Laine Spencer, Scott Reed. If the Demons win without that lot, they will be odds on for the flag. And the Eagles will be just about gone.
Sydney Uni by 15 points - Magpies will win if Students are off their game.

I think this assessment is more to the point

Seb Parker - Sleeps on the top bunk with the lights on
Daniel De Looze - Daniel de Who????
              Charlie Richardson - Good player
              Justin Barratt - Great player
Damian Dell'aquila - Should be selling shoes
              Clint Setford - McDonalds
              Ranga Ediriwickrama - No comment
John Moraitis - Should stick to acting like his brother Rick Morainis
              Sam Widmer - Your kidding
Josh Duncan - Get back to working at Duncans Liquour barn
Laine Spencer - Officially a pensioner who couldnt win at bingo
Scott Reed - Scott to be joking??????

Penno deserved their win but they are not going to challenge the top sides

you obviously have a very limited knowledge of most of these players and football in general
does beating undefeated sydney uni and last years grand finalists st george not count for challenging top sides?
sounds like sour grapes after your team got smashed yesterday and you've realised you guys wont be seeing any action in september again
no matter how much money you guys have you cant buy a premiership mate

                  they are the top side.

and why no comment for the state under 18 representative and captain (i think). In case you need convincing, read the match report from the MCG on saturday..

New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory v Queensland
                  Division two qualifying match, MCG

THE NSW/ACT Rams staked their own claim on the division one play-offs, beating Queensland by 31 points: 9.13 (67) to 5.6 (36).

The Rams stepped up a gear in the second half after leading by seven points at half time, kicking five goals to two after the break.

Ranga Ediriwickrama, who is tied to Geelong via the NSW scholarship scheme, was outstanding for the winners with a game-high 32 disposals, while Scott Reed - linked with Collingwood via the same system - had 24 touches.

Key NSW/ACT forward Jordan Foster impressed again up forward with three goals and strong contested marking.

Matt Thomson was the Scorpions? leading ball-winner with 28 disposals, while Joseph Daye, who attended last year's NAB AFL Draft Camp, won 25 touches.

                  NSW/ACT 2.3 44 6.11 9.13 (67)
                  Queensland 2.1 3.3 4.5 5.6 (36)

                  GOALS

Queensland: Fowler 2, Myers 2, Keefe

                  BEST

those grapes in the Baulko Wines gone sour? Or not enough "Back-to-Baulko" waters?
What I really enjoyed was seeing you erect the flagpoles, with the premiership flags. however, all of them said "Reserves" on there, was there no Seniors flags to hang?

Sorry Go Eagles, nothing you can say.

I made the call, I'll stick by it. On that result, the Demons are redhot premiership favourites, and the Eagles are not capable of beating them.

No doubt about it Penno looked the goods on Saturday but it's very early days. Lets not get carried away on early premiership predictions. Best we wait until everyone plays each other first and then after round 9 it will give us a good indication. Also if you're going to spruik off about how many players Penno had out ECE had the same amount out.

Very true Tim. Penno were very good on the weekend and they're top line players stood up. East Coast had way too many passengers on Saturday and as good as Spiteri and Polkinghorne are/will be in the future more of ECE experienced players needed to stand up.

And as many players that ECE had out I'm not sure if they were the same quality as those that Penno had out. Either way I do expect both to figure in some way come Sept.

Not spruiking mate, and I'm not an Eagles' basher. With my Nor-West Jets and other affiliations I am closer to the club than any other.
But perhaps you can give me the names of the 12 senior players who missed and we can compare.
I believe all the stars were there.

                              BeeEmmAre,

I can't give you 12 unfortunately but at least 7 were missing and I'm fairly comfortable that they would match the quality of the TOP 7 of the missing 12 for Penno.

                              Ryan Fitton
                              Kristian Pearson
                              Anthony Stubbs
                              Cory Durie
                              Michael Sankey
                              Aaron Byerlee
                              Blake Ure
Brad Ure - injured 1st 30 seconds of the game

However in stating the above this may prove that Penno have more depth which is the key to any clubs strength. I'm not a part of either club either but a Sydney AFL enthusiast who enjoyed the game on Saturday.

And another thing, I would be listing the UNSW/ES Bulldogs as the early premiership favourites. Clearly have the depth and talent to go all the way.
