Just noticed on the Sydney Afl Website that east coasts new ground wont be ready till next year now. Would be very dissapointing for them i would imagine after all the fanfare about it earlier this year.

cant help the rain mate, wouldve loved to run out there this year.If somebody says to you, "Can I ask you a question?"....isn't it a little too late? -
Yes very dissappointing - not only for us but for the community as a whole. It appears that the happy male community will have to watch Brad Ure do his thing at Charlie Mac until next year...Comment

I think this whole ground debacle stems from an administration oversight. East Coast officials were told all work to be carried out on the ground would be undertaken by Sydney AFL premiership players only. As of these unforseen circumstances all work ceased immediately. The only All Australian captain charged with glassingComment

oh that's hillarious Duck. You wouldn't believe the years of hard work that has gone into this project. The Eagles are obviously trying to do their bit to lift the standard of facilities available to Sydney AFL clubs as Wollongong did last year. I know a lot of players from all clubs hate going to certain matches knowing they will be getting changed in a tin shed and then playing on dusty, uneven surfaces and at times uncovered cricket pitches. It's unacceptable and there are a few clubs out there trying to do things about it. Yet you are happy to degrade the huge effort put in by the AFL, NSW cricket and the Eagles down to a petty, childish comment about past success levels. The wettest summer in 80 odd years has had a little bit to do with it. Get a life you moron.Comment

That being said though your club is not immune to petty and childish comments. Read your annual report from last year and you may understand what I mean but at the end of the day I thought what was printed was in very poor form and unessessary.Comment

I am sorry for my comments Junior. Of course anything that improves the standard of the competition is good for the game. I shall remove my tongue from my cheek and take more care when posting. Sorry to ruffle your feathersThe only All Australian captain charged with glassingComment

Where they thank every man and his dog for their help etc etc then refer to the AFL about being dictacted to regarding canteen etc. Whilst I applaud their efforts in supporting the community through the canteen maybe they could have been a little more tactful regarding the useage of Rosedale in seeing as they were groundless. We pay to use that ground and the council is very proctective of it during the winter months and will close it at the drop of a hat to ensure their precious cricket pitch remains pristine. Whilst we may be a lowly second div club in the eyes of some that hasnt and wont always be the case especially with the efforts behind the scenes in recent times and our oval is amongst the best in Sydney so perhaps a simple thankyou for the usage may have been in order.Comment
