From Today's Border-Mail Newspaper (Albury)
Selection criteria seems to be:
1) Playing for a NSW based club (no matter where you come from)
2) Playing for a VIC club (on the border), as long as you were born in NSW
I think upto 6 Sydney AFL guys could be picked (as long as they hailed from NSW). None made it, but I hope selectors watched the Syd v VAFA game and/or spoke to those in the know up here prior to picking the side.
Luke Norton-Smith formerly Campbelltown/Wollongong is there (originally and Albury boy) and one of the McPherson clan. Not sure if he played at UNSW at one stage?

NSW Country selectors have sprung a surprise by naming an Ovens and Murray-dominated squad to contest the Australian Country Championships at Shepparton next month.
Coach Corey Lambert yesterday opted for 31 players from the O and M when announcing his 40-member squad with only two coming from the NSW Country Championship-winning Riverina league.
Lambert said the squad was loaded with quality midfielders including the star Corowa-Rutherglen quartet of Sam Carpenter, David Clark, Nic Raines and Jake Ryan.
?We went to Wagga and had a look at the championships, but the selectors think we have the best available players,? Lambert said.
?The O and M is a fair way above and the squad reflects that.
?The NSW Country squad?s midfield compares with the O and M team of the other week with the exception of Matt Pendergast and we?re happy with the 40 players named.?
Lambert?s assistant coach is former Yarrawonga and Finley star Damien Sexton with Nick Carroll and Steve Hetherton serving as selectors.
Albury has the biggest representation in the squad with nine players, while Lavington (eight), Corowa-Rutherglen (six) and North Albury
will also be well represented.
Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong?s Chr-isten McPherson and Griffith?s Michael Duncan were the only Riverina players named.
The surprise selection was talented Wodonga Raiders full-forward Adam Prior, who is eligible to play because he lives in NSW.
The same applies to Kyle Archibald who plays for Yarrawonga, but lives in Mulwala.
NSW Country will train on July 2 at the Albury Sportsground from 6.30pm before rounding off its preparation at Lavington Panthers Oval on July 16.
The championships will be held from July 24 to 27.
The NSW squad is: Clayton Anderson, Myles Aalbers, Luke Brauer, Simon Bunyan, Luke Garland, Luke Norton-Smith, Paul Sanson, Luke Schilg (Lavington); Kyle Archibald (Yarrawonga); Sam Carpenter, David Clark, Nic Raines, Jake Ryan, Craig Tafft, Adam Way (Corowa-Rutherglen); Luke Carroll, Nick Carter, Ben Fixter, Jayden Kotzur, Daniel Maher, Jay Koehler, Daniel McAlister, Matt Fowler, Charlie Gaylard (Albury); Rob Hodgson, Brad Horn, Matt McDonald, Matt Murray, Brandon Ryan (North Albury); Adam Prior (Wodonga Raiders); Christen McPherson (Ganmain); Michael Duncan (Griffith); Tyrone Hill, Sean Robbins, Sean Harrap (Barooga); Graeme Fruean, DJ Oates (Culcairn); Steve Murphy (Howlong); Joel Mackie (Jindera); Marc Geppert (Collingullie-Ashmont-Kapooka).
