    Another Dog Act???

There is a lot of talk about SBW's dog act leaving the NRL midseason but is it a dog act for a club to dob in another club who (in reserve grade!!) played a couple of players from a certain second division club?

I understand that the offending club was fined for each player even though they lost the game (a couple of weeks ago) by nearly 200 points. What happened to trying to promote players to playing the highest level of football possible?? I also heard that someone from the "certain second division club" was at the game taking photos for evidence for the league.....nice!!

Maybe more of a flea act than a dog act!!!!!!!!!
    Time to play the Game!!!

You have forgotten to mention a few facts TRock.

One of said players was injured and will miss the remainder of the season.

All of the players involved were told earlier in the season that under no circumstances would playing at another club be tolerated.

Also you have forgotten to mention that both players were required to front up and play on the Sunday for the club they were registered to.

Finally you have also forgotten to mention that the Prem Div club in question never offered any assistance when the other club was stuggling to keep its head above water.

In addition maybe you should check you sources - how did the club find out in the first place and why is the Prem Div club holding a crisis meeting this week?

You might want to check your sources Colesy, because if your refering to Campbelltown theres def no CRISIS meeting this week, nor has there been or will there be one in the future. The club is down on player depth at the moment in the reserves but as you would be aware our u/18 depth is very good and if we recruit well at the end of the year will be more than competitive next year in all grades. By the way T-ROCK is involved with Camden i think, so if you have a problem with his post maybe you should take that up with him instead of having pot shots at us with your mindless dribble. Also you might want to worry about your own backyard and look at why your players arent interested in playing at your club and are going to others halfway through the year telling them they are no longer involved with you at SWEST. By the way i didnt realise that it was up to Premier Div clubs to help lower div clubs out of financial or admin trouble, I thought that the League would be responsible for that(SEE THIS WEEKS NOTICE ON THEIR WEBSITE)

        Tara,

As i have informed you, the players in question approached me, i was informed that one of them had not played for sometime and was probably not going to play there again and the other had may or may not be playing on Sunday and just wanted to play, given our current situation i was not going to look a gift horse etc.

As for offering assistance, i am not sure of what you are refering to, but i did send 2 players to your club last season that i did not think were up to Premier league, one of which was on your list last week.I also spoke to another of your players in the off season that was thinking of returning to your club, i encouraged him to play where he & his family would be most happy, his situation swayed him to play at your club which was fully supported by myself.

I am sorry that one of your players was hurt, but had the 2 clubs sat down and discussed the situation more rationally in the offseason, then a document would have been drafted which would have given you a bigger list to draw from in your quest for the 2nd Div premiership, instead certain parties were too busy worrying about what was in it for them.

Finally, good luck for the remainder of the season, i will be down to support you and your side in September,if welcome.

Steamboat I didnt call back because I never saw a need and you didnt ask me to - I took you at your word.

There was a document drawn up and I have read it. Unfortunately it was very one sided and we had absolutely nothing to gain from it. To be fair though I know who drew it up and it was neither of our clubs.

In respect to the two players the one who didnt play last week has relocated to SA and I think you underestimated him as I did to begin with - he would be a welcome addition to any side.

No reply for me Tara. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story hey? Thought you might have learnt your lesson earlier in the year when you bagged our club and said all our coaches were walking(i believe there all still there) Dont know what your problem is with us MATE but do yourself a favour and maybe think before you type next time.

Pace I didnt start the thread or name the club involved so chill out.

Yes I know Trock is at Camden so why he started the thread I dont know - maybe he has a problem with you. I know your 18's are doing well so your future lies with them as you said - as does ours with our 18's.

Maybe you should talk to Steamboat to get a clearer picture rather that jump to conclusions. Maybe the meeting I was told about shouldnt have been called a crisis meeting rather a strategic planning one - fair enough.

Wasnt jumping to any conclusions Tara was just reading what you wrote. To incinuate that we were having crisis meetings is a pretty ordinary thing to have written about your club. Also as you stated yourself we had sat down with your club to work out something in terms of players floating between the two clubs to help each other out, it wasnt our fault the perameters set out by the league didnt work in your favour, so to get on here and bag us is a bit ordinary.

This may be a silly question, but why would anyone need to take photos for evidence? The team lists are freely available on the Sydney AFL website.

I know who drew that document up and never suggested it was your club - the fact the names of the other parties involved in such and agreement were left on subsequent pages shows how much thought process was involved in drafting a suitable agreement.

                      What a Dog Act

As a past SWS player I am embarrassed by what has occurred!!
All you think about Tara is yourself and not the club you are representing.

                      What are you blokes thinking?
Dont bite that hand that feeds you - you morons!!
As a team that has consistently relied on the army for players - nice way of treating them!

As for your disgraceful double standards here..........
It only two years ago that i played for SWS against Penrith to help them out when they were getting belted.
I was playing for Camden at the time, but because we had the bye i came down to help the boys out.
How many army blokes have played for SWS over the years under false names??

ps. and the way you have treated a life member of the club in Steamboat is a disgrace!!! I know his poems are embarrassing but as a life member of the club he deserves more respect!!

Was I coaching back then? No! -Who was? Was I even playing? No! Have I ever played an unregistered player or a player from another club under a false name? The answer is no! Have I had the opportunity? Yes! Were both players required to play the following day? Yes.

Do you know what the facts are? I doubt it. Did you ever think to ask? No. At least Steamboat has a clearer understanding.

To all, yes I am at Camden....and I didn't start this thread to have a go at Campbelltown, it wouldn't be a good move for someone who lives in the area to piss off people from Mac Fields (we all remember the riots don't we?!).

Tara, I only made comment because there would be no team in Sydney or NSW for that matter that hasn't played guys not registered to their club at least once but I know that on the back of the Pope's recent visit maybe some people could feel a bit holier than thou....but judging from Martos' post I am reminded of a saying about stones and glass houses, how does that go??? (Norris, you seem like a smart bloke but honestly a club wouldn't use the guys REAL name on the team sheet if they weren't registered or were from another club!! ).

Martos, always the voice of reason in times of crisis....but I am shocked that you and SWS would engage in such deceitful behaviour, luckily no one was there with a camera I guess !!! But it's nice to know that a celebrity like yourself takes time out from your busy schedule (being photographed for the Macarthur Chronical or buying Blue Rinse) to get involved in this dicsussion.
                          Time to play the Game!!!

You may not have been coach - but i know for absolute certainty that when Grainger was coach it was occurring - and thats not even the point

The point is - playing 'smokeys' occurs - get over it
every club has done it at some stage
the only fact relevant here is the two blokes in question think your an absolute tosser and therefore wanted to play elsewhere.

Id say that your first quote above is pretty self explanatory as to where you bagged our club. You might not have named it but no-one would have to be Einstein to work out who you were talking about. As i said before mate, its easy to take pot shots about crisis meetings etc and paint our club in a bad light, we could all do it on here. As has been said GLASS HOUSES Tara.
