        2006 was better.

Watching the non-winners lose by a point is much more fun.

Worst club ever - but Reserve grade is important.

          Double Post.

But I should take this unexpected opportunity to congratulate Baulkham Hills on another year of participation.

Ha ha ha aha ha ha what a bunch of non winners.

            132 - 28 i think Sasha.

            even more priceless is:

            * 3 different sydney clubs
            * A thousand phone calls to every player in the sfl
            * thousands spent on getting players
            * hour upon boring hour of video analysis

            result = ZERO premierships

            PRICELESS

Should be a rocking night at Castle Hill show ground..will there be any fairy floss to CHOKE on.

Pennant Hills 20.12 (132) d East Coast 3.10 (28). East Coast won the reserves, North Shore won the under 18s.

More details to come when I do my match report - probably tomorrow, I'm too buggered and sunburnt tonight. Also I'll put up a photo gallery.

it was close....close to the most dominant performance by a team in a decider in SFL history.

Winners all across the ground for the demons...

Special thanks to Digital Sports for allowing us out of the country to watch the match live.

I must say that I was very disappointed with the standard of footy. I am sure that it was hot & it seemed a bit of a breeze but I can't recall seeing so many kicks out on the full in a Premier League match. Alot of footy on the ground and also alot of poor kicking at goal (most of the goals in the 2nd half were actually kicked within 15 metres in open goal territory).

Almost broke the record winning margin for a GF (East Sydney won 1980 premiership 204 to 83) which was surprising given the mere 17 point lead at halftime.

PS Make sure that ye show up for the representative match between the Sydney AFL side and the NSWGAA side on October 18 at Mahony Oval, Marrickville. I expect a ripper of a game.

                        From FullPointsFooty.net:

The tally of 30.24 (204) amassed against North Shore in the 1980 grand final is a league record for a premiership deciding match.

ECE score was the lowest in a Sydney GF in 70 years ie since 1938 when Newtown were kept to just 15 points.

In fact since 1917 (when East Sydney also kicked 3.10.28), the 1938 Newtown side is the only side to score less in a GF. So it was the 2nd lowest score in 92 years of Sydney GFs.

Between 1903 & 1916 there were 8 scores less than 28, but it seemed that footy was played differently back in those days looking at the winning scores in that era as well (such as 29, 32, 43, 44, 47, 48, 49).

In recent times, the lowest scores in a Sydney GF are as follows:

                          2008 East Coast Eagles - 28
                          1984 North Shore - 34
                          1961 Sydney Naval - 35
                          1982 Pennant Hills - 38
                          1981 Newtown - 41 (kicking a whopping 23 behinds!)
                          1989 North Shore - 45
                          2004 St George - 46
                          2005 Wests - 46
                          2006 East Coast Eagles - 48

Clearly the East Sydney side that won 5 in a row between 1980-84 must have been a very dominant side given they had a few appearances in the record books in both attack & defence.

I suppose it is interesting the number of low scores in recent times, with Penno's score yesterday being the highest since 1987 (when Campbelltown kicked 166) and the first over 100 since 2002 (when UNSW-ES kicked 106) ... has the Sydney Swans style of "tempo footy" inflitrated the local AFL Sydney scene?

Your comprehensive research is much appreciated. East Coast Eagles had all three teams in the grand final on the weekend. How many times has this feat been achieved and has any team ever got to all three finals and not won a premiership?

There were 4 grades played in the rain in 2006, Pennant Hills were in 3 of them - winning the seniors and losing the reserves and Under 18s Premier cup.
North Shore made all 3 grades in 2003 - and like East Coast this year won the reserves but lost the seniors and under 18s.
