Five Sydney juniors listed by AFL clubs

    Article from AFL NSW-ACT

Players from Sydney to be listed by AFL clubs:
Scott Reed (Pennant Hills) to Collingwood
Ranga Ediwickrama (Pennant Hills) to Geelong
Will Sierakowski (North Shore) to Hawthorn
Blake McGrath (Pennant Hills) to St Kilda
Chris Ogle (UNSW-ES) to Western Bulldogs

Last year, 5 players from the Scholarship program went to AFL clubs - 3 of them from Sydney, 1 from Broken Hill and 1 from Black Diamond AFL (originally a Campbelltown junior). 2 of them went on to play senior AFL football in 2008.

Congratulations to the 5 new players to join AFL lists - and they will be in elite company, joining the top 5 AFL clubs in 2008. Hopefully we'll see some more Sydney juniors making it at AFL level.

Norris, who was the kid from the black diamond league?

Craig Bird - originally a Campbelltown junior, but was playing with Nelson Bay during the time he was a Swans scholarship player.

Na we cant claim him unfortunately. His dad played for us and coached in 94,95 and returned this year to coach, but craig never played in campbelltown. He actually played soccer as a kid when they lived at Engadine and then they moved to Nelson Bay where he started playing footy.
