    Coulloupas to Easts??

Looking at Bigfooty.com today, following post.
Sydney Football League - Page 3 - BigFooty
Big move considering Easts straight sets exit from finals(was it straight sets??I'm on hols, havent put a can down for a week)and Eagles reasonable showing barring the GF.But player movement is gonna happen.
    any other movements?
Another one was mentioned on here previously, Edwards and Chivas from Pemriff, but not much said about Stu McKinley (ex- East Coast 2s and St Clair 3rds) to Campbelltown, is it official yet?A friend at Rams says there may be a chance the duo may stay at Greygums, but if contracts are involved, highly unlikely....

The two Penrith boys signed contracts Pekay and were at our Pre Xmas Training so they will be at the Blues.

no suprise loopy went to unsw/es as he lives in the eastern suburbs, i think now that HI5 have moved to there new ground they will lose a few more blokes who live near the city.

But the unlimted cheque book and open access to the playing lists of clubs will see them cover any losses on the field.

I heard on the grapevine that Balmain have lured a star in the making, Nick O'Brien from Uni NSW/Easts, to the Dockers. He will be a big loss for the Dogs

              Duck,
This is what every body is talking about around the traps that Darling, O'Brien, Carey, Mullinder, Pech are gone from the UNI/Easts?

Maybe that's how they secured Calloupas?? A true journeyman of the Sydney AFL. What's that song again?? Money talks, money talks.

I am lead to believe that Calloupus's move wasn't money related, it was more a travel thing. I think he will forfeit a fair few frequant flyer points. I wasn't aware that many were leaving Easts. I heard that a few have gone from Penno, including JB, Jones, Setford, Bart Mills and Parker as well as the three rookies taken by AFL clubs. Word is Garner continues to play his pied pipe and has lured Skuse, Burke and Mendola from Campbelltown. I doubt this would be true though. I don't think he would take three from them. Watkins has followed Toggs to Wests although I think they may have lost promising youngster, Mitch Frail to a SANFL club. It is the silly season, so these moves aren't gospel just what I have picked up around the traps.

You think wrong Duck. The more the merrier for the god lovers in the hills. Same old thing we can give you development as a player, put the GPS on you and play you where ever you want. only a matter of time i reckon till there juniors get sick of playing second fiddle to the imports

Thanks for the update Pace. I heard it but I didn't think it was correct. So on top of Maher and Baker last year he has taken another three this year. They know no bounds out there. I don't think they would be to happy out Campbelltown way?

                        Mendola

wasn't Mendola at Wests last year and i'm not sure that they had Baker either??

However don't forget they picked up Ed Wilson from the Towners.

Maybe it's Campbelltown that is the problem?

I forgot about Mendola going to West's although he was a Campbelltown boy the year before. I didn't even think of Ed Wilson either. Is there any truth to the rumour ECE are currently working on a massive contract to entice old man Kershaw out to the new nest?

Bourkey went because its his last chance to get drafted this year and he thought his best chance at that was to play under Garns. him and his dad told us that he is going for one year to give him the best possible chance and if he doesnt make it will return next year as they love the club , although you dont agree at least he had the decency to be up front about it. The other two just fall into the trap of getting their pockets pissed into and believe the doubts that get put into their head about how important they are to their club because the coach doesnt sit down with them every week or call them telling them how good/important they are. As has been said many times here, loyalty has taken a huge step backwards behind self indulgance in the youth of today.

In terms of not being happy, my take on it is you cant blame Garns for them leaving, hes just chasing the ellusive flag. We didnt complain when he bought players to our club so it would be pretty hipercritical to whinge. The players are the ones who have to decide and their the ones i have the gripe with. Theres plenty of guys each year who are chased by other clubs but dont leave because they have a sense of pride and passion for their clubs/mateship etc. As anyone who has had anything to do with being on a committee of a footyclub will tell you, you do as much as you can to look after the players and most apreciate it, but you will always get the ones that are rapted up in their own importance. Only one of the other three had the decency to be up front about what they were doing/thinking of, the others just bull@@@@ cause they havent got the balls to be honest, there the ones who have to live with it and look their former teammates in the eye. I certainly dont loose any sleep over it, would much rather have less talented guys that want to be a part of the club than egos you have to brush continually.

Mendola went to wests because he moved into town for a year and the travel was too much. Wilson came to us from St George with Garns so he didnt pinch him from us. If having great facilities and Paying everyone the money you promise them every season is a problem ill take that as a complement
