    Matthew Sanford Wheeler?

    What ever happened to this icon of NSW/Sydney football?

    Does he still play or coach at any level?

    Does he still live in Sydney or has he moved to greener pastures?

      He wasn't a bad player in his day. The first black American to play in the AFL, having played his early footy in Sydney; back when Holroyd-Parramatta was in the top SFL division. Probably unlucky to be cut from the Swans just when they were starting to come good.

      No idea what he's doing now. Someone on here may know.

              I thought he just packed it in to give his musical career a push? Played a few good games for the Swannies, showed real promise, did he win a rookie award or something for the club?

              On the trivia front his band played some club functions too, I seem to recall.
