How does the relegation system work?

Does anyone know in detail (or is it on a website link) describing how the relegation system is operating in the Sydney AFL. eg. Does the winner of 2nd division automatically move to 1st division, is there a minimum no. of years before possible relegation etc etc.......or is the Sydney AFL working this out as it goes? Were there any reported teething problems from teams playing different opposition across grades in round 1?

I just saw the photos of the new St George strip.....I cannot see a possible away strip variation of red and white that wont clash with the Gong...unless its black.

Its not automatic, its up to each club every year to nominate for which grades they want to play as i understand it
The edge is not the limit, It's just the starting point...

As an outsider, I think it should be automatic.

It is automatic promotion and relegation for Div 1, 2, 3, and 4.

This will only occur if you do not have a team from the same club already in that Div that you will be promoted/relegated to.

As such if you win the Div 3 flag you are promoted to Div 2 (on the premise that there is no Div 2 team from same Club already in the following year).

Should the Club already have a team in that Div, then the AFL reserves the right to offer promotion to the 2nd placed Club (of which the 2nd placed club can decline) and also look to relegate the 2nd last placed club also.

Premier Div is totally seperate whereby is based on an application and review system. As such any Club is entitled to apply to move to Prem Div, the AFl then reveiws this against certain criteri and then a seasons notice is issued if approved.
