A Sad Day In Sydney Football

Just finished training and came home to check a few things on the web, when the news that one of Manly's players, Mitchell Fagan, only 22 years of age, had passed away a few hours after playing in Manly's 3rd Grade against UTS. A tragic loss, and our thoughts and prayers should be with Mitchell's family, his brother Darren has played at Weldon for a few years now, such a sad loss.

I think it would be appropriate for all games to hold a minute silence before their next game after Easter. After all, we may battle it out on the field, but we are all part of the Sydney Footy Family.

On behalf of myself and the Balmain Club would like to pass on our best wishes to the Fagan family and the Manly F.C.

To my friends at Manly AFC & the Fagan family my deepest condolences.

Grief is a terrible process to have to deal with in life - I truly hope that these hard times are as gentle as possible to you all.

May a special star shine down of ye.

I knew both Fagan boys and their parents. Mitchell and Darren were team mates of my own son for many years at Pittwater Juniors. This is indeed sad news.
