Dockers did. See below from their website

Due to injuries, the flu, and the split game/ground schedule not making it easy for the Under 18s to back up, we aren't able to get enough fit players together to form a team for this Saturday's Reserve Grade game vs Southern Power.
Consequently we have taken the decision to forfeit the game in the interests of player welfare and regroup after the wet weather round in two weeks time. -

Weak effort
On the other hand the Sharks showed that as a club they have integrity as they decided to not play their senior players in their reserves despite needing the run. Something I know other clubs wouldnt do.Comment

It's a worry that a Premier Division club can't find the numbers to field a reserves team.
But around the league, there may be some clubs who have good numbers and who have some players who were available and willing to play but their club couldn't find a spot in their teams for them.
I'm not sure how it would work, but it may be worth trying to work out a system where a club with surplus players can loan them to a team struggling for numbers for a weekend.
Using UTS as an example, if the Bats had enough numbers to field their 4 teams and had a few players over who wanted to play (I don't know whether or not they do), it would be good if there was some system where they could loan them to Balmain for the weekend - they'd still be UTS-registered players and could be called up to UTS next week and wouldn't come up on the clearances; but at least they'd get a game.
It may be an issue for Balmain to have players who weren't picked for a 4th Division game at their club being thrown into 2nd Division. But that's still got to be better than forfeits.
Just an idea I'd thought of - I'd probably need to think of some ideas how it could work, and some of you may have some ideas too.

What issue - UTS 4ths would beat balmain so if anything it would bolster them.Comment

Just like you Norris your comments are weak! So UTS have to prop up Balmain just like we are with Uni/ECE.
Around the league players might want a game yeah right. what with hally at the helm!!!!!
Balmain/Uni/ECE are a jokeyou & the others at HQ wake up, you wont have a strong comp until you all are serious about zoning & poaching.

It's not a question of anyone having to prop up anyone. But when teams are forfeiting, I think it's worth looking at alternatives - especially when there are people out there who want to play but aren't getting a game.

People out there not getting a game know there are other clubs Norris - I think it says a lot about UTS as a club that blokes are prepared to accept the rotation policy that they have in place.Comment

Perhaps Campbelltown and Camden should look at doing something on a more formal basis given their proximity and the issues both are having with fielding two competitve teams?
Just a thought anyway, I'm sure it's probably been talked about before at some stage.
I know that we'd look at something similar at Penrith if there was another senior club nearby.Comment
